Carolina Panthers 14 @ New Orleans Saints 16: Prediction Results and Voting
Everyone's predictions from last week have finally been tallied, analyzed and formatted accordingly. They can be found in their entirety following the jump.
Once again we didn't have anyone get all three of their predictions correct but just as Meatloaf once sang, two outta three ain't bad. So today's ballot has seven nominee's, including stujo4 and pipr for the second time, who all came oh so close.
Look over the results then go ahead and cast your vote for the best predictor. The poll will be open for 48 hours, closing Thursday afternoon at 12pm.

This just in
My record on these predictions is utterly craptastic.
Football is easy if you're crazy as hell
I'm 1 for 12 for the season.
If it makes you feel better.
Week 5 matchup: Cardinals
Week 5 motto: I'm too young to have heart problems.
Um, Dave?
Let’s think this through. My first prediction was, “My first prediction is proven wrong.” You counted that as wrong. Therefore, my first prediction was correct. But that would make it incorrect, again validating it as a prediction. What’s more, my second prediction was that the resulting temporal flux would render results unpredictable. To demonstrate, I gave an example which did not occur, thus proving the unpredictable nature of the flux that I successfully predicted with my first prediction that was wrong. I don’t know how you can argue with a record like that.
It was worth the wait.
Very funny.

Dave,
117decibels
1. The Saints have at least 3 interceptions. NO
2. Lance Moore is held to under 50 yards receiving and returning. YES
3. Chase Daniel plays for at least one snap. YES
There’s a great chance that I might have been caught up in that “temporal flux” thingy, but I don’t remember Chase taking a snap?
I think, therefore I am, I think.
He was the holder on Carney's kicks
That counts as a snap.

Just a question...
How did my first prediction not come true?
" 1. Saints get early lead and Panthers try to come back in 2nd half"
This is just curiosity, trying to find out how you grade.
Week 5 matchup: Cardinals
Week 5 motto: I'm too young to have heart problems.
Way too vague...
1 – Define “early lead.” It’s too vague.
2 – I assumed “early” meant the first half, since the second part of the prediction references the second half. That being the case, the Panthers didn’t TRY to come back in the second half, they in fact DID come back and were winning 14-10 and 14-13.
I grade very specifically. That means terms like “early” should be replaced with numerical denominations, i.e. “first quarter” or “16 minutes.” That will help.

Its an honor to make it up to the big board
I made the pick about our running game before I knew PT was going to be inactive, but looking back it made me seem pretty ballsy didn’t it?
"I want to hand this trophy to the MVP of the Super Bowl -- and the MVP of the entire league.''
-- Saints coach Sean Payton, handing the Vince Lombardi Trophy to Drew Brees after Super Bowl 44.
pipr's first prediction is not correct
The Saints scored 0 points in the first quarter. They scored 10 in the 2nd.
Boom!
Good catch. No idea how that slipped past me. Shouldn’t even be on the ballot.

How is NYSaint not winning?
He accurately predicted more sacks than VASaintsfan, and gave a specific minimum number of yards rushing. Those were definitely the most specific and “out on a limb” predictions.
no justice!
i’m glad someone noticed that….i think its cause dave buried my name at the bottom of the list. he left my name off the nominees last time i qualified!
i guess VASaintsfan’s predictions are more….accessible? i preffer my “more specific version”
