Thoughts on Last Night's Big Win and the Season Thus Far

Wasn't it great to see the good Saints team show up last night? I don't know about the rest of you, but I now like the all black "Viet-Cong jammies" look. The team was really getting after it and moving fast across the field most of the night. The all black uniforms were an excellent choice for Halloween. I think it was Malcolm Jenkins or Devery Henderson who said recently that the black pants seem lighter or something and help them move faster. Whatever the case, our D seemed to be flashing around the field like bolts of electricity most of the night.

This game kinda confirms what I feared about two of our losses - the Saints have been playing down to the level of their opponents (Cardinals, Browns). They rose to the occasion and the league-superior status of the Steelers last night and proved they can hang with any team in the league when they're motivated to do so. Let's hope they learned their lesson from the Browns loss and keep the pedal to the floor from here on out. Once we get back some of our many wounded, that should become easier. A big test will be next week at Carolina. I know the Panthers always play us tough (as do the Falcons), but the Saints are clearly the superior team and should win easily. This won't be a good time to once again play down to their opponent's level. This win one, lose one crap needs to stop post-haste!
