Saints @ Panthers: Prediction Results and Voting

Everyone's predictions from last week have finally been tallied, analyzed and formatted accordingly. They can be found in their entirety following the jump.

This week may have been our best round of predictions ever in the history of this contest with ten, count 'em ten, members going a perfect three-for-three. And a fair amount of them are legitimate predictions, too. The ballot is long and I think this one is gonna be a tough decision.

Look over the results then go ahead and cast your vote for the best predictor. The poll will be open for 48 hours, closing Friday afternoon at 12pm.

    I voted for Stujo

I think predictions that name players as opposed to a unit (like Saints D) should get greater consideration. Stu did that with all three of his.

My predictions this year always seem to be wrong. Think I’ll start taking the George Castanza approach and go with the opposite of what I think.

"As soon as Tony (Dungy) said we had no chance, I knew we had 'em right where we wanted 'em"--Coach Sean Payton right after Super Bowl XLIV with the Lombardi Trophy firmly in hand. WHO DAT!!

Is the score a determining factor, like the 4th prediction, or something to use as a tiebreaker to aid us when making a choice?

I’m using scores as the determining factor in a tie. The logic being that if there’s no weight being given prediction boldness throughout, why use it amongst the perceived leaders in number of correctly predicted occurrences? For example, there could be multiple people with three ho hum correct predictions, yet one with two EXTREMELY bold picks correct, even to the point of prophecying specific details as to how two plays unfolded, players involved, etc. As is, the latter wouldn’t make the ballot.

    Too many fine predictions, Dave!

Can we call an audible since we have a bye week and nothing to do except root against the Dirty Birds, and have a runoff with the top two or 3 vote getters?

    I voted for Stu

but I’m going to vote again for cscmember and GSO. There were some really awesome predictions this week.

I just missed out, I nailed my first prediction though. (2 different tight ends will score for the Saints.) I should have been more specific with my 2nd prediction, I meant no trick plays like a fake field goal, punt, or surprise on-side kick. Kinda glad I missed out though, too many contenders this week.

    1. Saints hold Panthers to under 250 yds of offense.
    2. 2+ turnovers for Saints D
    3. Saints are 50%+ on 3rd down conversions (did you know we are 1st in that category in the NFL?…and 2nd in 4th down percent)

    Huh

I find your third down conversion percentage fact funny….since Mike Sando called out how poor we’ve been in 2 of our last three games on third down. If you’re curious our last 3 games…have been 33% 44% and 50%. Total the last 3 games we’ve been 42.2%….which would place us 8th in league. Way to not check your stats Mike Sando…..nice.

    Another Write-In for MtnExile

His weren’t the the most detailed predictions, but they were the funniest, IMHO.

although I was tempted by the write-in for ME. I even added a bonus to his predictions that was 100% spot on!

    I think, therefore I am, I think.
