Read today that the play is called “rebound” and Thomas is the “scoop guy” or something, assigned to watch for and recover any jump balls, which he did. Highly unlikely that the play finally worked especially since Thomas bobbled the catch.

Hard not to excessively celebrate when you win on a tipped ball Hail Mary.

Speaking of David Garrard

he’s looked like one of the best QB’s in the league over the last few weeks. Who saw that coming?

I see the next two weeks of suck for Garrad.

It’s the mediocre QB way.

Man...

Freaking Cowboys. I hope this was a one time thing. I already had a bad feeling about Thanksgiving.

rotoworld.com:

Dez Bryant-WR- Cowboys Nov. 15 – 9:14 am et Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones had high praise for rookie Dez Bryant following Sunday’s win over the Giants. “Dez will make you feel good about the future,” Jones said. It’s impossible to watch a Cowboys’ came without being impressed by Bryant. He has quickly established himself as Jon Kitna’s favorite target and his ball skills are at a Pro Bowl level already. Bryant is a strong bet to lead the Cowboys in receiving yards over the final seven games.
Jon Kitna-QB- Cowboys Nov. 14 – 7:46 pm et Jon Kitna completed 13-of-22 passes for 327 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in Sunday’s 33-20 win over the Giants. Interim coach Jason Garrett gets a win in his debut with relative ease, in part thanks to Kitna’s impressive day. The ridiculous 25.1 yards per completion for Kitna highlights why he’s an intriguing fantasy option — the Cowboys’ weapons are among the best in the league after the catch. Kitna, who now has two 300-yard games in his three starts, gets a tasty matchup with the Lions next week.

Did you see Dez play?

Jesus Christ that kid is one to look out for. Having him on special teams is the best move they have made in awhile.

I'm not worried just yet.

Eli Manning wasn’t that sharp from what I saw (though I missed a lot of the game) and I thought the Cowboys might be a bit fired up with a new coach and playing a division rival. This coming week will be a much better indication of things than this past week.

that’s what I’m saying Nabb – on another note, if I were a Cowboys fan I’d be pissed right now b/c they really didn’t do anything different but play like they were supposed to

Of course, they are playing the Lions, Kitna’s old team. He’ll probably be motivated. In the mean time, I need to go pick up Dez Bryan off my fantasy league’s waver wire.

by Nabb1 on Nov 15, 2010 10:06 AM CST up reply actions

how is Bryant on the waiver wire?

He’s been putting up nice numbers all year, despite the rest of the Cowboys’ ineptitude, especially the last five weeks.

Seriously,

I drafted him in a mid to late rounds, and he was a BPA at the time.

Eli didn't look very good in the first game against Dallas either

Three INTs and a fumble IIRC. The difference this time was defense.

Hail Mary FTW

According to Chris Berman, two of the previous three winning 50+ yard Hail Mary passes were thrown by Tim Couch. Presumably the other one was the original – Staubach to Pearson. According to wikipedia, though, it looks like there might be a few more. I’m too lazy to verify if any of the others in that list meet all the criteria (e.g., many are at the end of the first half). It’s also not terribly surprising how many times the Saints are on that list as the victim of such a pass.

And notice how often the Atlanta Falcons are involved somehow?

It was worth the wait.

NOT TRUE

•SANTONIO HOLMES’ 37-yard touchdown catch with 16 seconds remaining in overtime in the Jets’ victory was the third-latest regular-season touchdown in overtime since the overtime system was instituted in 1974. San Diego defeated Kansas City with no time remaining (November 12, 1978) and Baltimore beat St. Louis with 10 seconds left (October 27, 1996).

This is not true. It would be the 4th. They Forgot the Chicgo Bears beating the Jets on Monday night with 1 sec left in OT. They even thought the game was over in a Tie. Both teams had to come back out from the Locker room to finish the game. The Bears were on the Jets 1 yeard line. and I if I am not correct it was Walter Payton to run the tuchdown?

Can anyone else 2nd this?

Finding new ways to lose that are unbearable?

Hehe yeah. Reading around the texans blog, they are agreeing with that sentiment and hoping it doesn’t take as long to get to the super bowl.
