Have Breesus and His Disciples Finally Sobered Up From Their Superbowl Hangover?

This past week’s bye gave me an opportunity to scout other teams that are in the playoff race this season. I enjoyed watching the Falcons’ “come from behind” win over the Ravens. However, the main event of the week was the Eagles versus the Redskins on Monday Night Football. Michael Vick’s performance will be remembered as one of the best Monday Night performances of all time by a quarterback. It was the football equivalent of watching Michael Jordan drop 50 points on the New York Knicks. It seemed almost as if I was watching someone playing a video game…..completely unreal. To say that Vick’s stats were impressive is an understatement. He had 4 touchdown passes, 20-28 completions, and 2 rushing touchdowns. Other than the Saints winning the NFC Championship game (and of course the Super Bowl XLIV win), Monday’s game has gone down as one of my all time favorites. We witnessed history being made. I believe Vick is a changed and rehabilitated man. I think prison and all of his personal struggles from bankruptcy, etc… have made Vick into a mature man. If he continues to play like this, he could one day be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame.

The Saints will be marching back into town Sunday afternoon against the 5-4 Seahawks. Breesus and his disciples look to increase their winning streak once more with another solid win against a weaker opponent. Although, the Seahawks are in 1st place in their division in the NFC West, their conference seems to be much weaker than the NFC South..........

Do my eyes decieve me

A Saints fan enjoyed watching the Falcons come back against the Ravens
When the Ravens were winning with 50 seconds left I thought for sure we were getting the break we needed and the Falcons would lose
I never thought they could drive the field and score that quick against a defense like that
The fact that they did scare’s me even more
And now they have confidence

World Champions at last

But the Ravens let 'em off the hook.

It’s not that I’m not impressed with that final Falcon drive, it’s that I’m unimpressed with the Ravens letting it happen. I just think if you have the lead with barely a minute left and you are one of the feared defenses, you should have left with a victory. They was no flying to the ball, no urgency, nothing that would indicate they intended to stop the Falcons with a sense that they intended to make a statement about their defense or their standing. You know, something we all expected, instead we heard Ray Lewis complaining about Thursday night games.

Sometimes you’re on, sometimes not. Ravens defense let their offense down that time.

Oh, and I expect they’ll show up when we meet….
