rotoworld.com: Jake Ingram-C- Saints Nov. 20 - 5:01 pm et
Saints signed LS Jake Ingram. After a season-ending shoulder injury landed LS Jason Kyle on injured reserve, the Saints were forced to sign a long snapper off the street. Ingram, a sixth-round pick of the Pats in 2009, was recently waived earlier this month after struggling with snaps.

Jake Ingram-C - Saints Nov. 9 - 3:11 pm et
Patriots waived LS Jake Ingram. Ingram was drafted in the sixth round to replace ex-fan favorite Lonie Paxton, but he's been struggling with snaps of late. He'll be replaced by Matt Katula.

Punts and field goals just got a LOT more interesting. Watch everybody blame Hartley. “Anything else to report, Coach Payton?” “No. Nope. Can’t think of anything. That’s all I got.” GAAAAAAAA!!!

At least the competitive edge has been maintained.

WHAT!?

When did he get injured? And freakin crap, as if Hartley wasn’t having enough trouble as it is, it never ends. Altogether now, GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I have no idea how good or bad this is in the short term, but long term I’m not sure it’s that bad. Kyle’s snaps were pretty crappy as well. In the general vicinity, yes, perfectly on target, no.

Kyle got hurt in practice a few days ago. It was in the injury report if you look back. Of course, as usual, SP didn’t bother to let us know it was this serious.

This week may be bad again. Heck let’s be honest and say we may need to go for two on every TD. But if so, they’ll find somebody else to do the snaps. Watch and see, if things are merely poor they’ll wait out the game and then likely have tryouts Monday morning. And if he’s a complete joke they’ll send Tennant or Goodwin in instead and figure it can’t get worse.

No problem

We’ll play 4th downs every time for the foreseable future…

Anyone wants to join me on the empty bandwagon....

oh crap

and they expect Greg McMahon to coach him up?

Did he get hurt in practice? Chasing PT’s dog through a fence? Was he hurt against Carolina and they just now disclosed it?

It's gonna be a great year.

Whoa!!! where did this come from?

1) I will defend Payton being tight lipped ( aka misleading) he needs to keeps his hand close to the vest and not let opponets have an easier game plan
2) it’s frustrating re: game info.. but…
3) this is crazy – I guess fantasy wise this is not a big deal but for those of us who just want to know- I mean this guy was an automaton and if there were problems in Kyleland shouldn’t there be a little info on a bye week?

He was an automaton in the past, yes. Not this year. He’s been still “pretty close” but he’s NOT been “bulls eye”. Not on FGs at least.

WTF!?!

Somebody please tell me it’s November Fools Day.

It was worth the wait.

by MtnExile on Nov 20, 2010 7:45 PM CST reply actions

Hey, wait a minute

…what about Matt Tennant? I know, long snapping is not quite the same skill…but why not give it a try, and get more value out of this draft pick? If he can handle snaps in the shotgun, why not on field goals?

It was worth the wait.

wasn't there some rookie - Gresham something or other

that we brought into camp as a LS? He had a cool haircut and some hoped he’d unseat Kyle and be our new LS for the next 17 years????

What ever happened to him?

It's gonna be a great year.

Cut in training camp and picked up by… wait for it… Seattle!

by FriarBob on Nov 21, 2010 12:44 AM CST up reply actions

Clint Gresham, cut on July 30th. He signed with … dundundun, the Seahawks.

Think you’re mixing up the cool haircut with someone else, no offense to Clint.

Jake Ingram – Ingram has had a pretty rough season, with lots of low/high/to the side snaps. He’s been extremely inconsistent. This game, for the whole first half, Ingram had no control over where the ball would go. It ended up in the dirt more than it did in Mesko’s hands on punting snaps. He was called for a penalty. Not a good showing for a player who plays a completely un-guaranteed position. Look for the Patriots to try out some long snappers this week- Ingram will stay on the roster, but another game like today and he may be looking for a new job.

Pats Pulpit.

And if you thought you were nervous waiting to see how Hartley's kicks came off his foot

Now you’ll be wondering if the snaps will even make it to the hands of Chase Daniels Band…er…Charlie Daniel

It's gonna be a great year.

Ingram had some investment ideas for the team

Kyle wasn’t doing anything for Payton’s portfolio, so he had to go.
