This is gonna be a short week for people since some people will be traveling for the holiday and may not get to put up their prediction. So I wanted to get this up for those people. Also, the next few days will be busy for me and I may not have time to do it later, but I will edit it after tomorrow night's game for Dan Kelly.
And now some weekly commendations for this week's good picks and the bad ones.
The "Brees to Colston" Award for greatness will go to alcoholic_insight for his pick of the dominating Bucs over the 49ers. Just like a pass from Brees to Colston for a TD which is massively awesome, this pick netted alcoholic_insight 2.5 points to take the lead over the rest of the CSC pickers this week.
The "Shovel pass for INT" Award will go to jeremysherwin. Jeremy meant well with his pick of the 49ers, but they went scoreless with the Bucs and lost him half a point for the week and he will take sole possession of last place heading into Week 12. The good news is, there are still 6 weeks left.
The "Pierre Screen for a TD" goes to alcoholic_insight again. The pick of the Bucs was the biggest upset to win and he/she will take home this Pierrey with him along with his/her Breesy.
The "Sean Payton challenge of the obvious" will go to Dan Kelly. Dan took the Broncos who were the biggest upset to lose. The good news is that because it was an underdog pick, Dan won't lose any points this week.
That sums up last week's picks. Jump below for the rules and the current standings. Also, if you did not pick last week you can still pick a team this week and get in on the action.
This is not an elimination league. So, if you guess wrong you are still in the game, however depending on who you pick you may lose points.
You can go here for odds and the game matchups to see which team you will select for this week (Thursday's game is fine if you get it in before 7:00). When you click on the link, go to point spreads, I will use sportsbook. It seems to be consistent with the rest. And if the odds change, you can pick a new team if you want to, or just wait until Thursday or Saturday. To pick a new team, just reply to your old comment so I know you are changing. You can only change your team once, if you change it more than that I will not accept it. Just make sure to get in the pick on time.
A team above -8 will be worth 1 point if they win, and if they lose 1 point will be deducted.
A team between -8 and -2.5 will be worth 1 point if they win, and if they lose, 1/2 point will be deducted.
A team between -2 and +2 will be worth 1 point if they win.
A team between +2.5 and 8 will be worth 1.5 points if they win.
A team above +8 will be worth 2 points if they win.
If your team dominates (More than 16 points) then you will win an extra 1/2 point to your total that week.
Picks must be in at Sunday of the week in question by 12:00 in order to count.
You can join in after it starts, just know that you will be behind.
Winner will be calculated at the end of the season. Hopefully, we will be able to continue into the postseason with a more limited field among the winners.
For an example, Seattle @ Saints. Saints are 12 point favorites, if you pick the Saints and they win you will get a point. If they lose, you lose 1 point instead. This creates a bit more strategy/dumb luck with your picks, since you can have a bad week and come back great the next week.
Good Luck to everybody, and may the best picker win!
