Seahawks 19 @ Saints 34: The View from Section 140 in Pictures

Here are the best of the best from all the pictures I took while attending the Saints 34-19 beat down of the Seahawks at the Superdome yesterday afternoon.

There is a little something different about this weeks post. I'm curious if anyone will be able to notice. We've also got a picture chosen for a caption contest so be sure to share your wittiest idea in the comment section. Lastly, I've included the comments roll-call from yesterdays two open threads.

All that after the jump. See you there.

The pic for caption is funny all by itself, but yeah, I’m curious to see what the CSC comedians are going to come up with… lol.

Look at the various plant leg positions

Look at Olindo Mare’s feet while he’s in his follow through. His plant foot’s toes are easily a full half a yard (1.5 feet) in front of the holder’s hands. Maybe even 2 feet. You aren’t supposed to jump forward as part of your follow through, so while I wouldn’t be surprised if he slid forward a tiny bit that’s probably fairly close to where his plant foot went down.

Look at Hartley’s plant. His heel is pretty much even with where the ball was. That means his toes are at best merely a foot in front of the ball.

I don’t ever kick soccer-style myself, so I don’t know for sure, but I’d have absolutely no surprise whatsoever to find out that this is why he keeps hooking the ball to the left. He’s not getting his plant foot in the right spot.

I think after Morestead got knocked out of that preseason game everyone got scared of losing an important part of the team to a hit on kickoff coverage….so they stuck Hartley in instead.

Panasonic Linux

Gift from the wife for my birthday. Never would have bought it for myself but it’s pretty cool. She got that model because it has a burst mode which lets me take three pictures very quickly, hence the cool Hartley action shots. It also allows me to change shudder speeds so I can finally take pictures of game action without the blurriness. If I knew more about cameras, I bet theres even more cool stuff I can do with it.

I have a Lumix TZ5

Older, nice pocket camera, great zoom and wide angle lens, but the lens isn’t as fast as I’m used to, so it doesn’t take much to get blurry pics, but with that zoom I was able to get some decent shots from the 600 level.
You might want to try to play around with the exposure level, if you are getting blurry shots try setting it a couple clicks underexposed, they’ll be darker but you can brighten it up later with a gamma adjustment in something like Irfanview.

Not making fun of gay people. Making fun of the way the kid looks in the photo….seems a little over-happy dancing out there. And yes, i very much enjoy the show. Maybe you should have a little more open mind and concentrate a little more on learning how to kick a field goal.
