Fleur-de-Links November 25: Saints @ Cowboys - Let's Talk Turkey!

The big day is finally here.  The Saints bring their Big D to Big D.  I know it's a short week (four days since we played Seattle), but it still feels like Gameday took a while to arrive.

I hope this morning/afternoon finds you all surrounded by those that you love, with food and drink that you enjoy, and in a sweet state of mind for today's game.

To echo Satch and a host of others, HAPPY SAINTSGIVING!!

Jeff Duncan says the Saints will be wearing "home whites" (I hope that means gold pants).  Let's do this.

Make the jump to read all the tweets, news stories, previews, and feature articles, as well as some video.  But after consuming all that, don't forget to leave room for lunch/dinner and dessert!

Speaking of dinner, use the comment section to let us know how you're spending the day (what are you eating, when will you eat, who are you with, where y'at, and how's your day going...).

Gameday!!

We’re in Dallas, waking up with a cup of coffee, looking forward to the game. Partied with Saints fans downtown last night at the City Tavern. Lots of WhoDats heard throughout the downtown area. The Denny’s next to our hotel is serving turkey and all the trimmings, so we’ve got that covered. Once I get the wifey woke up, we’ll get breakfast and head out to one of the sports bars close to the stadium where it’s rumored a bunch of WhoDats are gathering. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! WHO DAT!!

Louisville, KY reporting live

our small turkey is brining in apples and spices mix and will go in the oven soon (mac & cheese pie and green bean casserole and rolls will be our sides today, with an assortment of chocolate treats from the bakery up the street for dessert)

right now we are finishing breakfast and then we must finish straightening up house for our guests

11:30 skype appointment with my parents/aunts/uncles gathering (who live in Covington, La.), and a phone call to the wife’s family in St. Louis at some point today..

wife’s son and daughter in law coming over @ 12:30 EST for our meal and fellowship – they leave @ 4:00 to go to her family’s Thanksgiving supper, while wife and I stay home and watch our Saints take it to the Boys!

Happy Saintsgiving to one and all – - ENJOY THE DAY HOWEVER YOU SPEND IT & WHO DAT!!!!

It's gonna be a great year.

Happy Turkey day!

Seems very late in the year to be having thanksgiving, but enjoy your day nonetheless.

I like Hamburgers!

sorry, Grumps

us USAers are a bit slow, aren’t we?

What did you eat on your Thanksgiving?

It's gonna be a great year.

by Hans Petersen on Nov 25, 2010 10:44 AM CST up reply actions

Let's see

You are the fashionably late country it seems.

As for the meal that 28 were in attendance for: Turkey (of course), ham, meatballs in mushroom gravy, perogies (both potato and saeurkraut), cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes and stuffing were the main items. Of course garlic sausage and pedeshke (these little buns with sauerkraut in them baked in the oven and brushed with butter).

That would be your typical Ukrainian/Canadian thanksgiving meal.

I like Hamburgers!

Our fall harvest comes in a little later down south. Happy Thanksgiving, Grumps! And thanks for sharing the arctic cold front that is said to reach all the way to the gulf coast by tomorrow. 22F in Wichita this morning.

Sounds frigid

We are dealing with a nice little bit of a snow storm.

by Grumps on Nov 25, 2010 10:57 AM CST up reply actions

I feel that...

Have over a foot of snow on the ground and was 22 below zero on Wednesday night.

Bored out of my skull

I wonder what it’s really like for the players, waiting all day for game time to finally arrive. Is it like this? You don’t want to start anything, because you don’t really want to do anything but watch/play football. So you sit, and sit, and sit…

I just keep imagining the game over and over again. Brees just hit Jimmy Graham for a 70-yard TD to put us up 56-12 late in the third quarter. Whoa…Jon Kitna has pulled out a tanto and is kneeling at midfield…

It was worth the wait.

by MtnExile on Nov 25, 2010 9:34 AM CST reply actions

creative, positive visualization

all TDs? No FG attempts?

It's gonna be a great year.

by Hans Petersen on Nov 25, 2010 10:48 AM CST up reply actions

you are such an elitist

You could have said “samurai sword” but you said “tanto” and made me go look it up. And you could have said “kaiken” and it would have been even more of an insult to Kitna and Da Boys.

Happy Thanksgiving anyway, brother.

Let's not conflate wealth with virtue.

Warm wishes from Mobile, AL

Happy Saintsgiving everyone.
On-call today.
Making rounds at the hospital this AM and sending as many patients home as possible.
The family will have the feast waiting for me when I get home.
Nurses have been instructed not to page me between 3pm and 6pm, except for emergencies— and I mean extreme emergencies. The Tivo is set just in case.
So pumped for the Saints first ever thanksgiving game.

a little reality check here on our nice holiday

Having a nice dinner at my grandbaby’s mama’s and daddy’s place later today, with Suzjo and daughter Sarjo and her boyfriend Andjo, and probably with a few latecomers as well. Everybody else is dead. So take a minute today and share a nice word or two with Grandpa or Uncle Harold or Aunt Shirley or whoever, they may not be at the table next year.

I picked up Jimmy Graham in the official CSC league this morning and I’m starting him, so look out, Devin. BOOM!

I had a dream

That Chris Ivory burned up the Dallas defense by running over 100+yds and 2TDs and the Saints wins by a blowout. I hope it comes true

I sure hope I get to watch the game today. Ordered a take-out Thanksgiving meal from Boston Market so my wife and I wouldn’t have to cook. Wife is 8 1/2 months pregnant, and you never know when the time will come. Happy Thanksgiving Who-Dats!
