First of all: apologies if anyone has already pointed this out...if so, I missed it.
Everyone, including me, has been comparing this win to the Redskins game last year, because of the incredible similarity between the Meacharound and the MalJenking™ of Roy Williams, and the Saints' lightning drives to take control of those games at the end. But there's another game it could be compared to with equal justification: the Miami game.
Here's the similarity: an improbable, come-from-behind victory by a team that simply refused to quit, in the stadium that would serve as the host for the Super Bowl. We did it last year--won the first time in heart-stirring fashion, then returned to win all the marbles; did we just complete Step 1 again this year? Is this a sign of Destiny? Or should we call it, Destiny II?
