Friday Injury Report: Will Pierre Thomas (Probable) Power Through?
For this weeks Vicks sponsored post I'm giving a shout out to Saints running back Pierre Thomas and keeping my fingers crossed that he'll finally be playing in this Sundays game against the St. Louis Rams. He's officially listed as Probable. Thomas' mysterious ankle injury has kept him off the field for way too many weeks, caused some tension between him and the team and led to the emergence of backup RB Chris Ivory. For some reason, however, I'm a little pessimistic that he'll actually play. Call me crazy. Even if he does dress, I'd imagine it will be on a limited basis as the coaching staff tries to slowly ease him into the lineup.
Make the jump for the full official injury report provided by the NFL.

IMHO Payton should wait until after the Ravens game to fully unleash the furry of the frenchman.
Have we forgotten that we were a reggie and pierre down for the atlanta game?

I actually forgot about that
And Ivory was just a scared rookie…

PT played the whole game against Atlanta
He hurt his ankle in the 4th quarter of that game and then continued to play, which is probably what caused further damage to it and delayed healing.

We're healthy now. Let's hope we stay that way for two more months.
I just heard Brian Billick on NFL Network say “If I’m an NFC team, I’m getting very scared of a healthy New Orleans Saints team.”
Bizzaro Payton, who does the press conferences, says he’s probable.
Meanwhile, unknown to the super-friends, Pierre is picking out where he’ll sit to watch the game.

As much as I know nobody around here trusts Payton — for that matter, I don’t really trust him either, I just don’t mind him — if he says “probable” Pierre has a 99.9% chance of dressing. He’d literally have to chase three dogs over five fences and gash his legs at least four times before he could be allowed to be inactive.
And if he’s active, he’ll get in the game in some fashion or another.
So no one is going to mention how Chris Ivory is playing?
I’m not sure we need a sub par PT right now. Ivory can be productive in the same situations that a less than 100% Thomas can be.
I suppose PT has to knock the dust off sometime and play. But, it’s going to be interesting to see how the ball is shared on Sunday.

Tusk need to learn how to catch a screen pass before he can replace pierre

Ivory probably could not replace Thomas
Pierre Thomas is a much better player than Ivory, IMO. But, I’m talking about the difference between a healthy Ivory and a previously injured PT. Just how productive can he be? I hope he’s ready. C’est tout.
