I hope he does get one...

I believe he has paid his debt. His actions since going to prison have been straight-forward and above board, I am glad to see him doing well. Although I don’t condone any of his previous actions, I do believe in forgiveness and having a second chance. Until he proves himself unworthy of a second chance, I’ll support his efforts to get on with his life.

Agreed. He says his daughters miss having one. Get a nice puggle for the girls. People do horrible things…doesn’t mean they can’t change or wish things were different.

Agreed. I can’t envision two labradoodles tearing one another to shreds. If they do, a bottle of bbq sauce would make it all serendipitous.

He didn’t kill them for sport. He fought them for sport. He killed them to put them out of their misery. Misery caused by the injuries they sustained while voluntarily — albeit by the nature of the beasts — participating in the sport.

If Vick had his druthers at the time, I’m sure he wouldn’t have chosen a situation in which killing his “money makers” was necessary. That would be comparable to you or I offing a dear friend that developed pneumoconiosis while working in a coal mine we owned. No good can possibly become of that, outside of putting your buddy out of his/her misery.

what about the dogs he kept around as sparring partners to keep his good dogs aggressive and these "sparring"

dogs were thrown in to repeatedly take a beating as they had no chance to win- they were just practice and blood donors?

“To keep his good dogs aggressive” is still within the interests of making money. I’m not condoning what he did. I’m just saying that he didn’t do it with wanton maliciousness. It’s not like he took midnight strolls to the kennel and stabbed random puppies with a hot pitchfork.

I'm very well educated about what he did. You need to educate yourself on the possibility people can change, and have the right to try and change. People do their time and then get released back into the world to contribute.

If people couldn’t or can’t change, we’d simply kill or lock up for all eternity anyone that has ever committed a crime. So don’t come here and tell us we’re warped because we feel someone has the right to change and own a dog again.

Paid his debt.

He can earn a living, particularly the profession he was in before he paid the debt.

But, he needs to shut up about dogs. He needs to be a lot more contrite, beyond his apologies, he needs to realize that humility about what he did warrants him shutting up about pet ownership, and look at pet ownership as an ultimate goal in a decade or so. Seriously. .
