Saints Holiday Schwag: Whatcha Got?
If any of you out there are like me, you probably get a lot of Saints-related gifts during the holidays, your birthday and other special events where gift giving is expected. It's easy to shop for me because if it's black & gold, I will probably love it.
I personally celebrate Christmas so when it comes to Saints schwag, I make out like a bandit this time of year. If you recently celebrated Christmas, Channukkah, Festivus or any other holiday where receiving presents is customary, I want to hear about what you got this year in the comment section below. Even better, post personal pictures of your new Saints schwag. And make the jump to check out pictures of my newest Black & Gold gear.
Special thanks to the friends and family who helped make this post possible.
Super Bowl XLIV Champions Christmas ornament.
Saints boxers/pajama shorts.
Sir Saint pique polo shirt.
Saints Christmas stocking.
Saints gnome.
Super Bowl XLIV woven afghan.

Oooo...Holiday Saints Swag!
Let me be the first to wish everyone the very best in the coming year! It can only get better for us personally than the way the current year has gone the past couple of months, but I won’t be a Debbie Downer!
On to the Saints swag…our son is home from New Jersey, and of course he is a tried & true Who Dat and knows what we like. He gave us a couple of things to add to the “Saints” section of the bookcase:

Saints SB Championship mug front…

and back—with the schedule and scores of the games from last season.

Crystal Saints football/paperweight,
and for me personally, Saints earmuffs for the Maryland chill!

Do we get bonus points for the fleur-de-dis patterned rug? I hope this holiday brought you and yours everything you were hoping and wishing for!

By the way Dave,
The wife loves the Saints gnome. That’s a different one than some of the others we’ve seen. We like the popcorn and cup touch, and the “Property of Saints” shirt! All the best to you and yours, and my holiday wish is that you and the gang continue to run this little “corner” of the Saints world with the continued quality and skill we’ve come to know and love!

Here is my Saints stuff

It’s a fleur di lis fat head. I put it up in my office. It looks pretty cool.
My wife got me...
…a very nice Saints stocking, and a copy of Drew’s book. :-)
All I really want this year though is TWO DAT!!!!
Oh, and a side order of fried dirty bird for Monday night, too….
Who Dat? TWO DAT! Do dat AGAIN!!!
I got a
Saints super bowl pin, a Saints fossil watch, and tree ornament. Not too bad on the black and gold front for me! (Not to mention my LSU schwag that I got!)
Got some Saints stuff, too.
My profile pic shows the Fleur-de-Lis kitchen acoutrements (dish towels and kitchen drain strainer) that came from my parents. (The Saints Santa pillow I have had since 2006)
I also received the Super Fan 2011 calendar of the Saints Super Fans “Day Jobs”, Dave Dixon’s book- The Saints, The Superdome and The Scandal: An Insider’s Perspective, and I may be receiving Duncan’s Bag to Riches book soon.
Merry Who Dat Christmas!!!!
It's gonna be a great year.
on a side note
I received the Blood, Sweat, and Chalk book by SI’s Tim Layden (same guy who wrote the Brees Sportsman of the Year feature story) on how the great coaches built today’s game. It came out earlier this Fall, and my father-in-law gave it to me in October. It is a fun read about the different strategies/innovations in the game of football (run and shoot, spread offense, zone blitz, spread option, west coast offense, cover two, wing T, wildcat, wishbone, etc.) and how they emerged from a mishmash of coach’s ideas.
It is a GREAT READf or anyone who’s into the Xs and Os of the game, but it’s not so technical that it fogs your brain…
It's gonna be a great year.

Saints drain strainer!!!! LMAO!
Marketing people have no shame. I’d love to see a picture of it though.

it's in my profile pic - to the left, bottom of the shot
not very close up, so you can hardly see it – it has a Fleur-de-Lis stopper handle. You can see the fleur de lis dishtowels to the right of that same profile pic.
It's gonna be a great year.

I got a Colston jersey this year. It was the one I had been wanting for past few years but I kept buying other ones (deals). So I finally got a Colston jersey, so now I can stop wearing my bad luck brees superbowl jersey. Also got a saints clock, with some more to open.

got a trailer hitch insert
with Saints SB Champions written on it- I used to sport a hitchcover with a fleur de lis on it. Looks really unusal in South Jeresy- a one of a kind in several ways. This one is great for a year and then I’ll switch back!

I got a Saints snuggy, several shirts, some sweatpants, a fleur-de-lis picture frame, a popcorn bowl, a calendar, some lotion/scrub/bath salts, and black/gold nail polish with fleur-de-lis nail decals. Best of all, I got a 3 ft black Christmas tree with white lights that look gold. I’m going to start collecting Saints/fleur-de-lis ornaments for it!

My son gave me a Saints Superbowl Commerative Football (Autograph Pen Included)
It’s pretty cool. The top half is white with a Saints embroidered fleur-de-lis on one side (the same style that’s on the baseball hats) The other half of the top says,
“SAINTS”
“Established Date: 1967”
“NFC Champions”
“2009”
""Super Bowl Champions"
“XLIV”
the orange Super Bowl logo, and
“Saints 31 – Colts 17”
My brother is sending me a copy of Sean Payton’s book. He thinks I don’t know it. :-)

Father made me a fishing pole in Saints colors with the Saints logo lacquered over at the base. Nice rod actually.

I'm SO jealous of this!
I would LOVE a Saints fishing pole! Can you share a picture?

Don’t have one, at least not at the moment. He ordered the parts from Cabelas and put it all together himself. It’s a 7’ trout rod, light weight 6-8 lb high action. Shaft is black with the eyes being black with gold interiors and standard cork grip. Not sure where he got the fleur de lis, but he put it on the base just above the cork and it’s got a clear lacquer over it to seal it in place. Now I just have to wait 5 months for the dang ice to melt so I can get out on my boat.
