Patriots over Jets
I said from the beginning in order, the Jets, falcons and bucs are the three luckiest teams in the NFL AND THEIR DAYS WILL COME and they will continue to fall. The Jets lost last night and they will lose more games. The Bucs lost two in a row and their gonna lose more also. Guess what Birds?
Oh and also,
How did we not get on? Yeah I know, we only beat the Bengals, but we made it a game. We won on after Brees won an oscar for his performance getting that neutral zone infraction. I mean the Browns beat the Dolphins..ooh like anyone outside of Cleveland/Miami cares.
Week 14 matchup: Rams
Week 14 motto: My kingdom for special teams coverage.
Because it wasn't supposed to be a game.
It’s the Prilosec Victory of the week. Not the Prilosec Oh My God We’re Incredibly Superior But We Play Like Crap Against Bad Teams and Barely Ink a Win Over A Crappy Opponent Victory of the week.
It’s given to underdogs who overcome or equal opponents who beat the snot out of one another.

Yeah, you are right.
Guess I’m just bitter…Stupid Bucs…

Yep
And that’s why my vote goes to the win that bucks the chirping conventional wisdom of the week.

Thanks for nothing, Tampa
At least Tom Brady went nuts on the Jets and helped me all but lock up a playoff spot in my fantasy league.

Yeah I know, we all wanted them to win the birds but their luck is there no more. Don’t worry, the birds are gonna run dry also. BYE BYE BIRDS.
WHO DAT. The Saints are coming.
I agree the dirty birds have been benefitting from some insane luck, but they just need that luck a little longer
The Saints need the Falcons to lose at least two of their next four, and their opponents (other than the Saints on Dec. 27) are the Seahawks and two games against the Panthers. The odds of the Falcons losing two seem slim, and that assumes the Saints sweep the next four, which includes a game at Baltimore. If the Falcons lose only one more game and lose to the Saints, if they finish with the same record, it would fall to the third tie breaker, which is record against common opponents, and the Falcons hold a 2-1 edge there having beat the Cardinals and the Browns.
Your math is slightly off. They are one game ahead of us in “raw” standings. If that stays the same until our game with them, then even if we win it won’t matter (because Carolina won’t beat them at their own Dome — just flat out no chance whatsoever).
If they lose the the punks this weekend (not likely) OR the suckhawks the next (barely even theoretically possible), then we have a chance. But the we must beat them AND win all the rest of our games as well.
So basically it’s past time to admit that deservedly or not we aren’t going to catch them. Not with a planet-sized golden horseshoe up their rear ends and the refs in their back pocket. Without those they are still a good enough team they could probably make the playoffs anyway, with that tho we have no shot. So get ready for a road trip playoff season. But it will all be worth if if we can poop on their parade in the NFCCG — or even divisional round. Tho if the refs don’t grow some functioning eyeballs before that game, I’d say we lose even then. Which will REALLY piss me off.
Hate to say this
I was happy to see the Colts lose even though I can’t stand the cowboys. And it would give me great pleasure to see the Colts miss the playoffs. I’m tired of hearing about The “God of football” Peyton Manning.

Have you noticed
How earlier in the year everyone harped on the Saints. Superbowl hangover, they were a fluke, got hot at the right time, yada, yada, yada. We go on a win streak, nobody says a word anymore, yet all year long the Colts have gotten a free pass while going 6-6. All anyone says is “it must be the injuries” and walk away.
"Aristotle was not Belgian. The central message of Buddhism is not 'every man for himself.' And the London Underground is not a political movement. Those are all mistakes, Otto. I looked 'em up."
Yep
And the Experts still say the Colts will win the division, make it to the playoffs yada yada yada. Yet there hasn’t been a word said about the 9-3 Saints. They’re expecting and waiting for us to slip. Let’s prove those so-called experts wrong again.

And they still talk about the Vikings!
For what possible reason?
Favre fascination. Not a very good reason.
They don’t even bother now with too much pretending that they are contenders for a playoff run, but a week before they were still pretending that not losing to the Bills would somehow save them. From what?
They wrote the Saints off as soon as Atlanta beat us at home as far as I can tell.

I know. It was a result of a missed chip shot. We were outplayed and still could have come out on top. Funny, thing is: when the Saints make a mistake. The media shuns away quickly.

I never root for the Cowboys.
Except this Sunday. I enjoyed “God’s” four interceptions.
It’s the over bearing worshipful adoration that he didn’t really create or advance more than it is about him.

At the same time....
You realize when people dance and jubilate – new word – at Manning when he throws INTs and has a poor game….pretty much just reinforces the fact that yes….we are indeed still in the midst of watching perhaps the greatest regular season QB in the history of the game. Sad really….you’d think we’d be able to just ignore the adoration of the media…and concentrate on the fact that he really is and was an exceptional player.
"Aristotle was not Belgian. The central message of Buddhism is not 'every man for himself.' And the London Underground is not a political movement. Those are all mistakes, Otto. I looked 'em up."
I don't find it sad at all.
Specifically because of your own qualifier: greatest regular season quarterback.
The “greatest of all time” is nonsense. It’s nonsense for anyone to be labeled that. What’s the hurry?
Manning has the stats in evidence and I’m all fine with that. There was no jubilatin’ against that which has been established about Manning, but what has been ignored or imagined.
There is nothing wrong with having some fun when the smug experts are wrong.
Or, at least, as you can see, I’m totally unapologetic about it. But, I will use intellectual honesty when not denying what he has earned in evidence.
But, give me a clutch playoff quarterback any day.
I’m not miffed, if I’m coming off that way. Enjoying the discussion.

The funny thing regarding stats. Brees is the first QB ever to throw for over 21,000 yds in 5 straight seasons. Not Manning by the way.
And I would take Brees over Manning in playoff clutch situations.
Brees Playoff record under the Saints is 4-1. Manning is 9-9

I did know that.
I was trying to make a joke at my expense. Not having yet established the ways of CSC completely but enjoying it very much.
Thanks for showing me.

Technically, Manning is 0-0… in the playoffs under the Saints.
And that goes for either father OR son. (Or even brother.)
Ahh wait a minute!
He’s 0-1 against the Saints. Superbowl 44

He's human. And not a God
They act like he has 3 or 4 rings like Bradshaw, montana or Brady.
How many rings does Manning have? Oh wait! One. Against the worst QB that season…Rex Grossman.

That’s the thing though…“THEY” act like it….not “HE”. That’s about as important a distinction as it gets. Manning is actually fairly humble at times, and flat out incredibly funny and self-deprecating. But because of how the pundits see him…people feel that’s a reflection of how he views himself.
"Aristotle was not Belgian. The central message of Buddhism is not 'every man for himself.' And the London Underground is not a political movement. Those are all mistakes, Otto. I looked 'em up."
As if I haven't gone on enough...
It really isn’t too much to ask that professionals who cover the game be critical thinkers along with what is naturally going to be some tolerable and somewhat excusable, embellished admiration.
There isn’t enough “yes, but” critical thinking. It’s all pack mentality and rather brainless.
