How Do You Defend Against That?
I was just watching Playbook on NFLN, and they broke down a ton of key plays/drives in the Super Bowl.
And one drive jumped out at me as a shining example of just how amazing our offense (play calling and execution) is...
On the Shockey TD drive, Drew Brees was 8-8, 46 yards, TD, 2-pt conversion.
The drive was only 46 yards, but there were EIGHT different receivers with a reception... OMG!
- Pierre Thomas
- Devery Henderson
- Reggie Bush
- Marques Colston
- Robert Meachem
- David Thomas
- Jeremy Shockey (TD)
- Lance Moore (2-pt conversion)
I've watched it four times, and I'm still in awe!

“Taking what the defense gives you” Little short pass plays to whoever is open and Brees finds the open man pretty quickly.
But on Shockey’s TD and Lance’s conversion, the defender would have to know what the play was to defend it, or give it a lucky guess (high risk, if he’s wrong it’s 6 (or 2 for Lance) anyway). Both plays were awesome.
Is it tomorrow, or just the end of time?
and how about when we have a FB (Heath Evans) who can catch (and run)
that makes us even more difficult to defend

Simple. Go behind your team's bench and curl up in the fetal position.
(Or should that be fatal position?)
Fat, dumb, and happy. Hell, two out of three ain't bad!
