And the H8ers just keep on coming
While I was reading the articles about the Saints, well because what else is there to do when your team just won the Superbowl, I couldn't help but notice that one again the rumors are flying about Bush leaving. Peter King doesn't seem to think so because even though Coach Payton is a genius, football people don't look at Bush the same way Payton does "The other question is whether they'll allow Reggie Bush to walk in trade. No question there will be some interest out there, particularly by Seattle, with former USC coach Pete Carroll there, but my hunch is that Payton, who likes Bush more than most football people do because of the change-of-pace he provides for the offense, will figure Bush, at 24, will continue to make enough plays to justify his $8 million salary in 2010. I think the Saints will keep him." So does Peter King think that Payton will keep Bush even though he shouldn't?? And then he starts on this the Saints are celebrating too much "The logical question for the Saints: Is all this celebrating and spate of parades -- the Saints' Super Bowl parade was so big that it was shown live on CNN with Wolf Blitzer throwing to reporters in the middle of his "Situation Room'' show -- going to go on so long that they effect the Saints' ability to repeat in 2010? Teams in the Super Bowl are so far behind the preparation 8-ball already, finishing the season five weeks after the 22 non-playoff teams." I am sorry but it has been 42 years since the Saints have been to the Superbowl, I think some partying should be going on. Even if the Saints don't make it to the playoffs next year, how many of us fans are going to forget this season??? It's bad enough with all the whinneying colts fans crying in their Payton Manning Wheaties, that we have to get it from the mainstream media also. Please will somebody get this guy off the Internet?? He has nothing but bad things to say about the Saints all season long. It's still February, let the boys get their partying done, Loomis is already getting ready for next season.

I have news for you...
When your team wins the Superbowl, the mainstream media just MIGHT write some negative things about them, or things you’ll disagree with.
They did the same thing when my Colts won. “Can they repeat?”, “Will they have a Superbowl hangover”? Yada yada yada.
Also, it’s PEYTON, not Payton – Payton is your coach, Peyton is our QB.
One more thing, if the Saints had lost the Superbowl, the Saints fans would be crying into their Drew Brees Pampers, so I think we have the right to cry into our Payton Peyton Manning Wheaties.
Crying if we lose? Probably some. But as much as the morons from your side, not likely.
For those who can't remember the uncapped FA rules, this link's for you.

Therein lay the difference
Between your fans and ours…. We know how to lose well. We have had decades of practice. We know how to lose and know WE lost not that the other team was (insert a myriad of reasons why it wasn’t OUR loss by someone else’s fault).
Do we cry when we lose, yes…. do we cry foul and say we really won? No.
We Believed.

See, you're right but...
That’s not really the position of most of the Colts fans I know. Really that’s mainly the opinion of our idiot GM. Not much of a PR guy, that’s for sure.
We know WE lost and it was the COLTS fault. Well technically, it was the SAINTS fault too, since they outplayed the Colts…Does that make sense, or am I just trying to “lay the blame elsewhere”…?

right on
nice post, and you are right, I cant believe a real Saints fan would ever misspell peyton vs payton. I have enuf respect for both gentlemen to know how to spell their respective names.
And you are right about the MSM or whatever you call the righteous bros of the 00’s, talking heads who dont know Jack or his twin brother Tuerd.
Glad we won and Peyton is man enuf to admit who was the best team on that particular Sunday in Miami.
Hope we see you guys next year, same game, diff time, diff site, and we will TEE it up again, just hope you can catchit it this time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like it!! I love it!! I want some mo of it!! Supa Bowl Rings, Dat Is!!
There does seem to be an inordinate amount of crying going on. I think part of it is that the Saints have never been in this position before, and I’ve never really noticed it. I imagine the fans of top tier teams have to deal with this on a regular basis. I’m starting to enjoy it. Next year I can just ignore it and “act like I’ve been here before,” I suppose. Heh.
It's a good feeling...
the “weve been here before”. Just hope your team doesn’t disappoint the next few years…
Why don't you go
on a Colts board and discuss the dissappointment that the Colts brought to their fans this year and how it IS a thing to come over the next few years.
2nd place is the first loser!!!

In a few years, just not the NEXT few years
You’ll have to wait for Peyton to retire. Unless, of course, upper management unneccessarily pulls the plug on a perfect season but that’s a whole different story.
You’re logic is awful. I think 32nd place is the first loser. You know, the team that’s knocked out of playoff contention before they face any of their div. ops. for the 2nd time. Sure, we lost the Superbowl, are you trying to hurt my feelings? I’ve dealt with much worse from better people – but thanks for trying.
IF YOU AIN'T FIRST, YOU'RE LAST
We don’t have to wait for Peyton to retire. Why would we want to wait that long when we can do this all over again next year.
Just being facetious, sorry.
etid5353, you, like so many others, including, but not limited to, ESPN “experts”, various sports stars, CNN Sports, Fox Sports, CBS sports, every local sports caster outside of Louisiana, never in their wildest imaginations thought the Saints could beat Peyton Manning. Notice I didn’t say the Colts, I said Peyton Manning, and did so for a reason. The team we beat in the Super Bowl was not the Indianapolis Peyton Mannings, it was the Indianapolis Colts. The Saints played a team sport, with team effort. The MVP of the Super Bowl could have been any number of players – Morestead (perfect onside kick and beautiful well placed punts), Courtney Roby (magnificent on returns and on punt coverage), Pierre Thomas (running, receiving), Jeremy Shockey (TD Baby), Garrent Hartley (3 FG’s from at least 40 yards), Tracey Porter (can you say PICK 6). The Saints not only disappointed Indy fans and Peyton Manning, they shocked the world. I think a statement was made that there are no more “Aints” hanging around the NFL. This team is destined for greater things than just a one hit wonder.

Oh no, I knew the Saints had a shot at beating Peyton Manning...
…And the Colts. And they did. I get it. I’m not shocked. How could I be shocked at something that clearly looked like destiny. The Saints had one of those seasons like the Colts did in ‘06 and the Giants in ’07. They were the underdog, the little guy that everyone outside of the other teams “homers” was rooting for. As far as MSM “experts” – there’s nobody – NOBODY – that can predict what will happen in football. No amount of film review, or “in-depth analysis”, or whatever these talking heads do to get you to read their articles, will give someone the “edge” on what’s going to happen. That’s why they call it “Any Given Sunday”. That’s why garbage like the Raiders get whalloped by the Giants, and then the next weekend they destroy the Eagles.
And as far as next year, I would love to see a rematch. I think it would be a thriller, just as much as this one was. A lot of folks look at the final score and don’t appreciate how great of a football game it was. It was a nailbiter right up until Porter’s pick-six. I was just explaining to “touchdown my pants” that Colts fans won’t be disappointed by our team until Peyton retires. He is the franchise, he’s the reason why we’re as great as we are. You coult probably say the same thing about Brees and the Saints. Sure, you have all these good players that aren’t Brees, as you pointed out, but you’d be a 6-10 team with Mark Brunell behind center – even with those players.
I do appreciate your comment though. It brings discussion to the blog, which is always healthy. A lot better than some idiot just simply saying “go away”.
please?

again, right on
thanks for the good read etid. As a long time Colts fan, and a Saints fan from the beginning, I can relate to it all.
Just to let folks know, I was a fan of the Colts, long before the Saints were even a dream, much less a franchise.
My finest moment in life was, as a fan, was watching the Colts play the Saints in Tulane Stadium, and Johnny U was on the sidelines, and even threw a pass late in the game, as Earl was the starter that day.
But, I am a SAINTS fan 1st and evermore. I have alot of respect for the Manning family and their athletic abilities, all 3 of them are great QBs.
What I liked most about the Super Bowl was that all the money was on Peyton & not on Payton!!!! Payton had less to lose, therefore he played to win, and as usual, the player wins.
But would you please go to Blue Stampeeeed(BS) and let that guy mgrwhatever, that stats are for losers and champagne is for winners!!!! We each spew what we sow!!!!!!!!!!!
I like it!! I love it!! I want some mo of it!! Supa Bowl Rings, Dat Is!!
lol I'm too stupid...
To talk to that MGRex guy. I couldn’t read or comprehend those damned stats if my life depended on it. I just know in a football game there’s a winning team and a losing team. I’d prefer it if the Colts were always on the winning side, but understand that that isn’t always going to be the case.
I’m glad to see there are at least a handful of Saints fans that still have respect for P. Manning. From what I understand he has a lot of love for NOLA and the Saints franchise. I hate that it had to come at the expense of my Colts, but there isn’t a city in America that deserved a Lombardi trophy more than N’awlins. I’ve been there and I loved every second I was there (except for the humidity lol).
Random thought: Hopefully that Razoo defense stays together through all this FA and offseason activity – they were my fantasy football defense last season and scored me a hell of a lot of points!

I think you guys misunderstood me.
The year after the Colts won the Superbowl, they lost to the Chargers in their first playoff game. Year after – same thing. All I’m saying is you should hope that your team doesn’t go through the same struggles. It’s quite frustrating for a fan, especially when you know the team you cheer for is better than that.
If you don't like what I say...
Then ignore it, like JND does. Put on your big boy pants and ignore it if you don’t like it.
The Partying was more of an Acknowledgment of the fans for their undying devotion.
It is the fans who wanted to see the players and coaching stafff and the ownership/management in the parades. The fans wanted to say thank you. The fans wanted to celebrate the 42 year burden that was finally lifted off of their backs. All of this talk about extended celebration is proof positive that other team’s fans and the media hacks still don’t get it… The team and it’s fans are indivisibly united. They are as if they are one in the same… The owners, players and fans are emotionally invested in one another. Like a marrige, for better or worse, in good times and in bad. Well the good times have arrived and no one can or will get in the way of the celebration of this moment in history…You see, our fans are true fans… They way it ought to be.. I believe that most other sports franchises would love to have the type of fans that we have.. They just don’t get it…………………
"Sometimes there's just not enough rocks". Forrest Gump
well said indy fans just do not get this
all 11 fans that greeted them back at the airport dont get it if they would have won ,I sure all 22 fans would have shown up.
Let's just ignore him.

Peter King is a fat idiot anyway. He knows everybody hates him but gets paid a lot of money so he doesn’t care. If people stopped reading his trash, he would go away.
Actually, these 'puter buttons ARE kind of trickey.
