This Optimism Is Quite Fun!!

I remember during the regular season, it seemed like it was fairly often that Who Dats would either get down on their team a little or get negative a bit, or even at times there was the distinct smell of fear on CSC. Most of this happened when we struggled to win some games after the big Patriots victory such as the Miami game, the loss to Dallas, Tampa, etc. It was understandable, remembering how the past was- some were really getting down on our defense and at times even our offense and also even on Brees himself. I guess the juxtaposition of completely devastating teams early on in the season, and then later in the season playing like mortals at times was a little unsettling. Some even wanted a recall GW or at the least thought there was no clear reason to bring him back next year. Surely it wasn't everybody, in fact it may have even been a small percentage, but it was very palpable and I remember at times feeling like I was the only one feeling 100% optimistic in this teams talent and ability. I still feel that way. Every day it gets more and more. It is actually foreign for me to feel this way- I am far from a naturally or unusually optimistic individual. But, I believe wholheartedly in this team, their togetherness, their coaching staff and their mission. To me it's a huge plus to have a larger than life reason for playing this game.

So, it seems very different now- as far as the big picture is concerned. It's all in perspective and there seems to be this spirit and composure that we really know ( and maybe we are the only ones that REALLY know) that we have something very special. It's down to one game. The Colts are formidable and the game could go either way. But I guess the best way I can express my feeling towards this game is - I am really glad I am a Saints fan and not a Colts fan. It's been a great ride and it will be a great Super Bowl. We can do it, we will do it!!!

GEAUX SAINTS!!!!
