Addition to Colts Standard Equipment

Just came across the wire that the Colts have been issued special performance apparel in anticipation of  Superbowl XLIV. 

Now personally i am wondering how the NFL is able to get away with such a thing, allowing one team to access apparel that the other team is not given.  However, as i realize that only one team will need the benefits associated with such apparel i am willing to overlook it.

When queried as to why the team was opting to don the equipment, Peyton Manning simply stated "we are playing the New Orlean Saints, the pressure that Greg William's defense creates will necessitate this kind of equipment". 

"Personally, regardless of the ankle injury, if i am unable to go this weekend, i will be donning this equipment regardless simply because the Saints Offense is just to overwhelming. Even sitting on the sidelines i will probably be thankful that i have adorned the equipment" stated Dwight Freeney.

I suppose that with wearing those white pants, the NFL does not want to deal with the ramifications associated with national television coverage displaying that due to the sheer awesomeness that is the New Orleans Saints, the Colts have indeed crapped their pants in the Superbowl.  As a result, they have instead opted to issue team diapers to prevent leakage.
