Best place to see the game...

I live in Portland Oregon and I can't be in Miami or New Orleans to witness Drew Brees work his magic or Darren Sharper light up Peyton Manning. I'm a super huge Saint's fan, I've been a Saint's fan when they had Hebert and suffered though Aaron Brooks. Now I just need to know where's the best sports bar / restaurant in Portland Oregon to take my friends too see the Saints kick ass? Your suggestions would be most kindly appreciated.

Thanks!

-Scott

If you were in New Orleans...

I would tell you just about any place that has a TV and serves drinks will be a good sports bar on Sunday evening.

Unfortunately, I’m afraid you may have come to the wrong place regarding recommendations in Portland. We know a lot about bars, but we’re not that good. I’ve never been to Portland but I hear it’s a pretty cool place. Nice to know there are Who Dats there.

If all else fails, your house and a well stocked bar should do the trick. Have fun and Geaux Saints.

It's a tough call...

…whether to go out and celebrate or stay home. I love to go out and party but I’ll probably miss something in a crowded bar. Either way it’s going to be a good time.

Bound to be fans in Oregon. Any good sports bar will be doing the S. B. GEAUX SAINTS

Thats a good idea.........They should be blogging the game.

Sataying at home and watching the game would be the best. No driving, no distractions. and no DUI………….Ouch

Oh Yeah!

Told my boss “Thanks for giving me the day off.” His reply, “I did?” My reply, “Yep.”

For the past three years I’ve attended the Superbowl party at an on-base Enlisted Club. Lots of people, lots of food, lots of fun, and cheerleaders (this year from the Seattle Seahawks). But, I came to the realization a few nights ago that this time it will be very different. This time I’ve got my heart and soul invested in the game and will not just be an observer and flipping a coin over who I’m “for.”

I’ve already packed a suitcase with all the stuff I’ll be bringing to the club. The game starts at 8:15AM here and the club opens at 6:00AM. I’ll be there about 5:30AM to make sure I get a choice area to set up. Gonna’ be better than the day I found out 3 condoms in a pack is not necessarily a year’s supply!!!

I’ll do my best to get some pictures of me getting my Far East Crunk (or is that Clunk?).

I'll ignore the 3 condom bit

and just ask, if youre there almost 3 hours before game time, how in the hell are you gonna be not on the floor in your own….to cheer on our Saints? anyway, Hoooaah Saints and make us proud you old, surly, lean green fighting machine, goofy ass Saints fan. I kinda wish I was there with ya!!!!

I already told the 5 friends who will be with me that they may leave the table at anytime. They will put up with the embarassment at their own peril.

The first major obsticle is to NOT get kicked out of the club. I’m gonna’ sneak in Dixieland Jazz on a boom box (in the suitcase) and will dance around the club with banner and umbrella every time our boys score. Hope I dance myself to death!!!

Hell, come on over. When you get to the West Coast ~ just don't stop. (We're the island on the other side of Hawaii.)

Speaking of Hawaii – did you know that “Aloha” means both “Hello” and “Goodbye.” Just found out it now also means, “Who Dat!”

NOW That is the place I could watch the game...

Watching JND would be better than ANY SB Commercial… and you would get it throughout the whole game… wish you had set up video surveillance on yourself to share with us.

uhm… you trying to make us all jealous with the 3 to a pack comment?

Gonna' pay my waitress to dress up in my Saints BBQ outfit - black apron with gold fleur-de-lis and black chef's hat with gold Saints logs across the front.

I’ve got a couple hundred bar umbrellas to stick in everyone’s drink to give them the “Miami” atmosphere. Got a silver whistle and yellow flag to keep the refs honest. Got a broomstick with attached washboard and tamborine to make a racket IF the Colts do anything worth cheering about. (Thinking about bringing my snare drum but that will definitely get me kicked out!) Tomorrow I’m making a “chain” set to measure my way to the bar to get my “first downs!” The club has a tile floor so I can’t bring my bubble machine; the floor gets to damn slippery! (Waitress down = SWAT swooping down on my table.) My smoke machine may set off the sprinklers so that’s a no-go also.

If I do manage to get some pics before I get tossed I promise to share them with all my CSC comrades.

Gee, hope I don’t make a spectacle of myself.

Sorry WestCoast

I SOOO got off the subject of your post! My bad.
Maybe check your local newspaper and see if there is anything in there about clubs or bars having a Super Bowl party. If that doesn’t work, there is always the yellow pages. Look up bars/lounges/nightclubs, and start callin to see who’s do what.

Wish I could help.

But the closest I got to there was a little cabin in the woods in Washington State and Olympia was the closest town….

I wish I could watch the game at home and cook and stuff…. but just moved can’t find the box with pots and pans… might be lost (horrors) and worst of all no cable TV until wednesday. No idea why the internet is working but not complaining but no TV… so I guess I will watch it at a bar on the corner that Touts PoBoys and Gumbo which I am afraid to eat since I have never experienced anyone able to make those things properly OUT of the State of LA….

Next year when we go back to the SB I am definitely going to watch the game wherever my Brother is… he is my Saints Guru er.. GrisGris Man and I want to watch it with him.

But no matter where I am… They will know which Team I am rooting for.

hmmmm..

Still a toss up for me which place other than N.O. with my Bro I would rather be… At Breesus’ or watching JND watch the game…

Both of ya’ll send pics and we can have a vote afterwards.

Hill earned the starting job for the 2009 season by beating out Alex Smith, who missed last season after re-injuring his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Head coach Mike Singletary largely chose Hill based on his play down the stretch last year: he went 5-3 over the final eight games and he also owns a 5-0 record at home in Candlestick Park.
