Peyton Manning and the Colts, the Villains.

Hello guys, I'm here from Stampede Blue, The Indianapolis Colts blog, and want to say something real quick.

First, I'd like to open by congratulating you guys on your success, and your reaching this final game. Props, you guys earned it. On that note I'd like to wish all of you guys a happy Sunday, and regardless of the scoreboard i hope the entire world can enjoy themselves.

Star-divide

With that being said, lets get onto the real post.

Peyton Manning. You guys have shown so little respect for him at times im wondering many things. I have spent tim reading several posts on here over time, and to be honest im disgusted. You guys talk about Peyton as if he's completely overrated and will get shut down. You speak of him with no respect, as if you dont fear what the guy can do. And most of this bad talk originates from ESPN or NFL Network analysts saying you can't stop him.

But is this Peyton's fault? Is it his fault the Media does their talking? Has he ever bragged? Ever? No. He is disciplined and a great player, a real Pro's Pro. Yet because other people talk about him in higher ways than they do Drew Brees, you guys Bad mouth him. I can't put my finger on it. So i thought i'd ask you guys. Do you just not respect Peyton Manning, or do you TRULY think he's as bad, and as easy to slow down as you guys make him out to be? And before the game, try talking to some fans from the 12 teams weve beaten this year when we tried. So please, enlighten me as to why you guys bad mouth him. Over at SB when we mention Drew Brees, we may get our bad mouthing in due to him being the Antagonist in our own stories. But i dont reckon ever reading a post where a guy bad mouths his ability on the field, or shows no respect for the great player that he is. I hate Drew Brees personally. One of my least favorite players, and i have my reasons for it. But i have never, ever, felt a lack of fear and respect for what he can do on the football field.

Onto the other topic, the "Villains" of the game.

Why are the Colts getting called this? Lets look at some characteristics of a Villain in sports, then compare them to the Colts.

A Villain Runs up the score. A villain plays dirty. They talk trash, they are hated by everyone except for themselves. Few people enjoy watching them. Their players arent well disciplined, and they focus on other things outside of the sport, such as media attention and etc.

Now the Colts. They're super disciplined. They NEVER run up the score on a team. Ever. Their players never trash talk or draw attention from the Media. They're a fun team to watch, and their leader, Manning, lets his playing do the talking, rather than going to the press.

So i'm wondering, is the reason their "villains" because you guys are the feel good story? I don't get it. Youre team is more full of villains than we are. Your team has (few) players that brag, or say they can shut down opposing players, and you guys run up the score on teams all the time. Personally, i think running up the score it great, but its also not what a "feel good" or "good guys" team does.

Finally, my question is, why does the Natural Disaster entitle you guys to a superbowl victory?!

Okay, before i get chewed out to death, let me tell you guys i was born and lives in Lima, Peru. We get earthquakes. My family has suffered a lot, and there are many bad things that happen. But why should a Natural Disaster entitle a team to win in SPORTS. Of course New Orleans deserves Media attention, fund raising, help from the outside world. Sure. They deserve it. But saying that Katrina makes you guys "deserve" the win is simply outrageous. And if you think its not, then i say that Haiti needs to get a World Cup Bid and be allowed to win. Because they "deserve it" ----See? When you use a different example, it sounds crazy. Specially seeing as Katrina happened years ago.

Dont get me wrong, i think NO is a great city. I have so much respect for you guys. You guys are great. No disrespect about the catastrophe that was Katrina, i truly feel for you guys, but it should be kept out of the SPORTS world.

And if you want to talk about deserving something, look how hard everyone on our team works. Their is never a lack of hustle or discipline.

None of that matters now. I hope everyone enjoys Sunday, and best of luck to the Saints. It should be a great game. And im sorry to go on your blog and say this, but someone has to get these points across, and if this was the only way for Saints fans to realize some outrageous things, then i guess ive done my job.

GO HORSESHOES!!!

Peyton IS overrated

He’s rated as a god…and not just by the media, but by you guys as well. But he’s not really a god, and he’s been exposed enough times that people ought to know better by now.

What he is, is a very, very good quarterback…but he’s not invincible. He can be beaten, he has been beaten, and Saints fans believe he will be beaten again. And if that doesn’t suit you, you can marinate in your disgust until you get all wrinkly. Be my guest.

No, thats a true person in denial.

Okay. Obviously you didn’t bother to actually pay attention to what i said. The MEDIA makes Peyton out to be a god. Not Peyton. Us fans do too, but don’t you guys make it seem like Drew Brees can throw all over anyone? Thats fan talk.

My point was PEYTON did nothing but play hard to earn the talk. he didnt talk himself. And OTHER people making him out to be good doesnt entitle you guys to bad mouth him and UNDERRATE him. I agree he’s overrated. But if the Media overrates him, thats their problem. Talk about him how he is, dont underrate him just because others overrate him. Thats dumb.

1. I don’t think anyone on CSC denies Manning is a future HoF QB. He’s phenomenal. So what? Every QB loses games. Just like the Saints, we’re not here to cower in fear over what #18 is gonna do to us. We don’t care about him. We want our team to win.

2. Where, exactly, have we requested a Super Bowl win in exchange for a hurricane? I don’t think you’ll see that anywhere on CSC. No New Orleans resident or other Saints fan would ever suggest that Katrina “entitles” us to a win tomorrow. If they did, every other CSC member would tell them how stupid they sounded. Just like they’re going to tell you.

3. You sound stupid.

Man, I did not even read your post. I was responding to ME. If he thinks it stinks then I agree with him

Besides……………..Peyton Manning dont wear Black and Gold. I could care less about Manning for this game. After it , I might love him to death if he loses. If he wins I wont like him very much at all because either way, he works for the Enemy. I dont care how good he is or how good the media has made him……………He is the enemy and I hope my Saints take him apart and hides the pieces………..Thank you Karim that Dreams

First, I think all true football fans appreciate Peyton Manning as a future HOF quarterback.

Second, it IS mostly the media that have coronated him before he even takes the field.
Third, 99.9% of Saints Fans would be extremely happy if the “K” word were never spoken again.

Having list the three points above I can only assume that you have made this last ditch effort to somehow protect your quarterback from his own natural disaster on Sunday. You seem to be pleading to the vacuum of space that the Saints do not turn into the angel of death and wreak havoc on your beloved team. Too little too late, my friend.

Son, you can’t protect your quarterback. We can’t protect your quarterback. The only One who can protect your quarterback is God . . . . . and He don’t wanna’.

I don't feel entitled.

I don’t think any one of us feels entitled to the Super Bowl Karim.

It’s little jerks like you though who know nothing of what they speak that piss me off though. You make light of Katrina, as does trOOly, because you lack perspective and reasoning skills. You’re a young fellow though – go figure.

You’re an idiot, a troll and I’m fairly certain not many at Stampede Blue think highly of you either.

It was a bit ridiculous

That sly got banned for making a stereotype JOKE about women. All the while, they had numerous threads stereotyping and bashing southerners with sincerity. Sly you should have known only CERTAIN groups of people are allowed to be discriminated against over there.
Ape, what can I say. You kept calling everybody a ‘peckerhead’. While it was effective trolling, it was predictably short lived.

And I read your comments. They were funny, but rude. Certainly not worth a banning, as I’ve said much, much worse to Karim and trOOly on that board when they bought up you-know-what.

Indy Lori is a moron though. She joked about Katrina along with a few others. They liken us to Jets fans while they whisper jokes about the 9th Ward. Puhleeze.

We come not to praise Peyton, but to bury him

Not sure where your getting those ideas. I think you are interpreting things the way you want.
1. NOLA loves the Mannings. It is universally agreed he is a great QB, I think the best ever. But, he’s beatable and we plan on doing just that. If that concept blows your frickin mind, maybe you should be more objective. By the way we’ve got a pretty good QB ourselves, although you may not know it due to all of Peyton’s press. They are so statistically similar, I feel it negates your ‘peyton advantage’.
2. I don’t even know what villain thing you’re talking about. You’re our opponent, period.
3. We don’t deserve anything. We’ll earn it tomorrow. Frankly, stay away from the Katrina subject. We’re pretty tired of it and you’re just regurgitating media garbage.

Okay, Manning is a god. Manning is everything the media says that he is. But guess what? Our defense is better! It doesn’t matter if I believe Manning is good or not. What matters is that I BELIEVE IN MY DEFENSE and it’s ability to stop Manning.

Why do you come to OUR site and make an a** of yourself??

We have the right to think anything we want to think about ANY Manning. But for the reord, it seems to me most Saints fans have acknowledged that Manning is an excellent QB. I have not read anything else. But stats are stats and you Colt fans don’t seem to understand that Brees threw for more TDs,less ints, and a higher completion %. Plus he outplayed two hall of fame QBs in the playoffs and Manning outplayed a guy named Flacco who has made absolutely no measureable impact on the league and an injured rookie who had almost double th ints and Tds and you struggled against them for more than half the game. So, facts are facts and notice- I said nothing bad about Manning. It’s just you guys haven’t really proven anything in the playoffs yet. Baltimore sucked and the Jets were mediocre.

So...

I live in Indiana(i know everyone on CSC has heard it but it’s for the colts fans) and get to hear/watch alot of Peyton Manning. I’ve had friends who have waited on him at restaurants and said that he was a jerk. I have no disrespect for him. I don’t think anyone’s comparing him to say…OchoCinco. Everyone knows what he can do to opposing Ds and how he’s always seemed to be clutch in the 4th quarter. No one’s saying he’s not going to the HOF. We have respect. What we don’t have is a fear of Peyton. We believe, contrary to popular belief, that Manning isn’t a diety. He can be contained. Everyone in the NFL can be contained and limited. I don’t know where you saw someone saying that the Colts are villains here. I think that we merely believe that they are the enemy and we’re going to try to beat them just the same as you guys are probably thinking. No one is saying that we deserve one for Katrina in a serious manner. I’ve seen it brought up once or twice and it always seemed to me to be in a joking type of way as being a reason that we should win. I’ve seen the lack of a SB title brought up more, the years of wearing bags, and other such things that have happened over the Saints history as a reason we deserve a win tomorrow. No one deserves a win imo except the team that proves it on gameday. Anyways, I think when you came over here you expected a lot of rationalized opinions about how good Manning is and things like that. It’s a Saints site. Unless you ask for that kind of thing on a blog, I doubt you’re going to get it. Good luck tomorrow. If it couldn’t be us,I was hoping it’d be you.

Gotta love the heart and soul that Saints fans display

when someone comes and tries to talk trash (veiled, but trash none the less).
Karim…..to start a post off with a compliment, and end it with a slap in the face, is rude, crude and condescending.
With that being said, lets get onto the real post.
Alot of the other posters on here are alot more eloquent with their words than what I am, I try to say what I feel in my heart, more than in my head.

In response to your section about Peyton…why should we respect HIM?? We can respect his abilities as a football player, the contributions he has given to the league and his team…but we don’t have to respect him. He hasn’t done anything for us. Yeah, he gives to charities in the area, but so do alot of other players. Peyton is arrogant, cocky (which doesn’t bother me so much…when you’re good you’re good) and an a##@^#&. I know this from personal experiences with him and Eli. I’ve know ALL the Mannings since the late 70’s..and as a kid, Peyton and Eli thought their respective s#*& didn’t stink. Unless you know them on a personal level, you can’t judge how they are based on interviews on t.v. and the like. If you look at the stats, Drew is just as good as Peyton and even BETTER in some major stats.

You stated you “hate Drew Brees personally”. Why is that? Is it because he is humble and kinda, sweet, down to earth? I’d guess it’s because you see in DREW, the qualities that are lacking in PEYTON. That’s a sad testament to Peyton as a person. “Hate” is a wasted emotion anyway…half the people you hate don’t know you hate them, the other half don’t care. I’d like to hear the story of when you MET Drew and what he did for you to hate him. Bet that would be interesting.

The villain thing…that boggles my mind. You must have us confused with another team that called the Colts villains. Do they play dirty, do they run up scores on teams, are they as good as everyone in the media makes them out to be? I don’t know…I’m a Saints fan…I watch and pay attention to the Saints…I don’t watch other games. So, as a player I have no idea, except what is reported, about anything concerning your team other than y’all are our opponents today. It’s been mentioned that Colts had an easier schedule to get here than what the Saints did. I don’t know if that’s accurate. I DO know y’all struggled against a couple of teams we handled (Jets, Patriots) with no problems.

As far as the Katrina thing….you have alot of nerve to even THINK we think we deserve a championship because of Katrina. What an asinine and insensitive thing to think or say! What we deserve, is a championship based on 43 years of heartache, despair and hard work. We’ve paid our dues as fans. NO OTHER fans can say they’ve been through such an emotional journey as what Saints fans have been through. Katrina was a turning point for this franchise, and this city. When we had nothing, no lights, food, places to stay that were safe…when we fought with the federal govt. over help….the ONLY thing we had was the Saints…and THEY were almost taken from us. Unless you live here, you can NOT begin to understand the things we have gone through, both with the team and Katrina. Keeping Katrina out of the Super Bowl, (or as something to use as a rallying point, something that ties the team and the fans together), as you say….is like keeping any and all other stories that are around concerning subjects that emotionally fire up the players.

I won’t say thanx for the congratulations and wishes of luck from you…I feel they are shallow and come with too much b.s. to be believable.

Furthermore the Colts are a class organization. I WOULD HAVE BEEN ROOTING FOR THEM IN ANY OTHER SITUATION!

THE THING WE WERE SICK OF WAS THE OVERWHELMING SLANT OF ATTENTION ON THE COLTS/MANNING ALL TWO WEEKS UP TO THE GAME…..

How sweet it is
