Finished Strong!

Congratulations to the 2009 New Orleans Saints and their fans! Super Bowl champions!

We...are...New Orleans. As I sit here and watch the Saints celebrate on the field, I realize there is nothing anyone can say to truly describe this moment.

Thank you, New Orleans Saints. For everything. The last forty-three years have made this moment that much sweeter. We love you!

My thoughts exactly!

Pigs have flown! Hell has frozen over! The Saints HAVE WON the Superbowl!!

by Dan Kelly on Feb 8, 2010 12:14 AM CST up reply actions

What's that I hear about Drew Brees being not quite good enough?

32 completions in the Super Bowl, tying a record, and the largest come from behind victory since Super Bowl XXIII, as well as outperforming future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning? Nah. he’s not “not quite good enough”. He’s a legend, and I want to get married, have a son, and name it after that “pick 6”.

This is in celebration of my second ban. Rocky Top Talk didn't like what I had to say about Kiffin, and Conquest Chronicles didn't like the unpleasant, ugly, bitter truth. Why are they all so butthurt?

Brees outplayed Manning and now has won as many SBs as Manning

He is def a super elite QB now… its no longer a Brady and Manning conversation… it is now a Brady, Manning and Brees conversation. Congrats on the victory

I would suspect most of them aren’t regulars around here. Most of them probably aren’t even Saints fans, just anti-Indy. But unfortunately there are always a few idiots in any crowd. No doubt some are Saints fans. For those few who are, you have our agreement. They’re idiots and deserve to be banned.

bob,

some of us have our reasons for talking now. others have been (shall we say) less than cordial to saints fans.

Two wrongs still don’t make a right.

I’ve seen some sheer idiocy from them too. But returning the insults and whatever else is stooping to the level of their idiots. We should be above that.

when my wife yelled games back on and I saw the huddle and was what the hell??? She told me onsides kick and I just smiled, I knew Payton was gonna pull this play out again.

Oh, and the earth moves when Sean Payton walks...

Because his balls are just that huge. Opening the 2nd half with an onside kick? Are you crazy? Nobody saw it coming because it’s just not something people do, unless you have balls the size of the Rock of Gibraltar.

I am a Niner fan and grew up watching Montana

Drew Bress plays more like Montana than Peyton Drew Brees is now officially with no argument the best QB in the league and should have been the MVP of the regular season

Thank you Al Davis for Michael Crabtree!!!!!

by Athletic on Feb 7, 2010 9:09 PM CST reply actions

I think all three of the top quarterbacks are very good. It will take several more years (and hopefully rings) to truly crown any one “no argument the best QB in the league”.

But with NO reservation will I agree, he should have been the MVP. Or at least the co-MVP.

Then again, MVP of the league or MVP of the super bowl. I’ll take the latter without any doubt!

If so, then Tom leads all three by a mile.

And right now Tom isn’t the best QB. He could be again if they can fix his OL that so recently seemed elite and get him a few more decent WRs, but right now he isn’t.

So right now Peyton and Drew are tied in the stat that matters most, SB rings.

Words can't express this night

Everyone doubted this team. The analysts said that the Colts had the better QB, but Brees played one of the greatest games in Super Bowl history. That the Colts had the better clutch kicker, but Hartley nails every single kick he is called upon for while Stover misses one. Jonathon Casillas, the undrafted rookie, comes up with what could be the play that defined the game for us on that onside kick. And lets not forget that it was another rookie in Morstead that kicked the ball perfectly on that play. Sean Payton, Gregg Williams, Pete Carmichael, and the rest of the coaches called a flawless game and showed a lot of guts all night. Every player on this team had some heroics in some way or another and it just makes it that much sweeter for everyone in the Who Dat Nation.

that game featured a little bit of everything that made this season so special

a successful Payton challenge of a goal-line play

dynamic runs by Reggie

another PT “seeing-eye” TD catch and run

a stellar Drew Brees performance

a pick 6 by our DEFENSE – - Tracy, you are the MAN (Reggie W. picked a BAD time to get lazy on a route)

Garrett “CLUTCH” Hartley splitting the uprights

Colston with some AWESOME grabs

and much, much more

I Gave Canal Street Chronicles Some Love

in my neck of the woods. Please visit www.midutahradio.com/sports and read Saints Make History; Win First NFL Title for my column wherein I give the CSC some recognition. I talk about Brees and Payton and all that jazz, to borrow a term that Utah stole from New Orleans. Anyway, please visit my site if you have some time and take a gander and tell your friends about my work. Thanks for letting me on your podcast radio show the other week. I’m good luck! Now I just need to give my Broncos some.

Congrats Saint Nation, on behalf of Raider Nation! You guys deserve this one, bigtime!!!

Drew Brees, Lance Moore, Tracy Porter, Reggie Bush, Pierre Thomas, the great city of New Orleans this country would not be the same without…

The league is a better league with a Lombardi trophy in New Orleans; I’m quite certain there’ll be many more to come, as long as this organization acts as it has for the last few years.

Enjoy, and be safe for Mardi Gras! Y’all will probably be passed out by then! I’d be right there with you….

From a Canadian Saints fan

Congratulations to the city of New Orleans and the whole Who Dat nation.
I’ve been rooting for the Saints since 1990, when I turned on a game at random and thought ‘New Orleans Saints? never heard of em’
A great season capped by a great game.
I might need a Porter jersey now too!

Congrats to the New Orleans Saints- from a Packer fan

You guys stuck with your team through all the painful years, now that painful burden is off your shoulders. Your Saints are now officially in something called a Superbowl Club. You’re not the team where the fans where bags over their heads. Your not the team that could rarely ever make it to the playoffs. You’re not the team that everyone laughs at. You’re not the A’ints. You are the New Orleans Saints, the winner the of 2010 Superbowl!!!!! You did what many teams have not, and that is win the one and only game that matters each year. You can proudly say that your team was the best team in the NFL in the 2009-2010 NFL Season. Live it up, soak it in, the glory is all yours. Thank you for the entertaining and inspiring season.

+1!

Super stoked for Drew Brees and company!

It’s hard for us as Raider’s fans, too, knowing Sean Payton is yet another guy we chased away! Not a better coach in the league, in my book. Love me some Sean Payton.

Haha

That is one I’d definately buy too! When would these shirts be available? And just for clarification, is Lombardi Gras the next week of partying from sb parade to mardi GRAS parades?
