The view from section 118
Saints win!! For all of you who wanted a blowout, how about 31-17? For those of you who wanted a close game, you got it for more than 3 quarters. For all of you who were saying "I just want to see a good game", BOOM!
It really was a great game. I figured it would be decided in the 4th quarter and boy was it ever decided. I was a little surprised because the Colts offense seemed to be moving the ball pretty much at will throughout until the end. Who wanted it more? Who dat?
Speaking of, the Colts fans have no identity. They're even more bland than their uniforms. No songs, no sayings, no nothing. Wearing a Bob Sanders jersey is pretty awesome, but if that's all ya got, it's pretty sad. Who dat cheers throughout the game, Stand Up and Get Crunk at every kickoff, Second Line after every score. I appreciate the stadium allowing the teams to bring some of the home traditions to the Superbowl. Duncan estimated the crowd at 60/40 Saints fans, but I think it may have been more.
Sat with a nice older couple of Saints fans on our left, and then a 19 year old kid, his 12 year old brother, mom and dad on our right. Big kid cracked me up the whole game, he was way into it with his gold suit and black porkpie hat and enthusiasm of youth.
You saw the game. To me, the Saints looked pretty confident throughout and the Colts did too, until the end. Pick up todays' USA Today for an extraordinarily Saints favorable writeup. When Porter got his pick 6, I was pretty sure it was over. I looked down the row, and the little kid was bawling. Big kid, suzjo4 and I all had big tears in our eyes. Mad high fives all around, and big kid is hugging my wife. HEY!
Quarterbacks get too much credit for wins, too much blame for losses. My MVP is Tracy Porter, suzjo4's also.
Gold painted Saints fans with Colts jersey diapers, including skid marks.
What? You think I'm gonna pose in a Chase Daniel jersey. Oh HELL no.

Hoochie Mama! That's a lot of skin. She pulled down the T and put on sweats later.

Fuzzy, but I thought it was the tears in my eyes. Harper watching Porter take his pick to the house.

It's over.
There he is, big kid with the million dollar bill in his pocket for good luck. It worked.
The PayLoo embrace.
You got dat right.
I don't know who that is or where that came from, but I like it.

"The Colts were punching at it and grabbing for it, trying to get it out. But I didn't care if they broke all my fingers. There was absolutely no way in the world I was going to let go of that ball. That was our ball.''-Chris Reis

Oh please don't make me tell it again
Everybody’s sick of it. Windfall, had to sell my stock in my old employer’s company in Dec, kept back enough for ticket and travel (well most of it), I’ll be delivering Domino’s Pizza in order to pay my income tax tab in April, yada yada. I’m a lucky guy and I know it but thanks to all for reminding me, I need that . Really lucky. Once in a lifetime experience.
Halfway home, we'll be there by mornin',
Thru the Mississippi darkness rollin' down to the sea.
sorry
I must have missed that when you said it. You are lucky, though. You don’t need me to tell you that. You know because you were there.
