Who should narrate the "America's Game" film for the 2009 New Orleans Saints?
Dave mentioned the "America's Game" series in his wrap-up piece, and I thought it might make the subject of a good Fanpost discussion.
For those of you who don't know, America's Game is a series of amazingly high-quality hour-long documentaries that NFL films (maybe?) puts out chronicling (nice word choice, HansDat) the Super Bowl Champions for each year. They have won awards, and they always get a high-profile (using the term loosely) Hollywood star to narrate each of them. Donald Sutherland did the 2006 Colts and I've heard Ed Harris and Bruce Willis on other ones.
So my question to you, CSC Nation, is this:
Who should narrate the "America's Game" documentary for your New Orleans Saints, the CHAMPIONS of the 2009 NFL Season?
I welcome all responses. Vote below and then tell us what you think.
Bring me your tired, your sarcastic, your hungry, your serious, even your huddled masses of words that barely construe a sentence...

Agree to JEJ
the guy that is the head of the show The Unit and the Allstate commercial spokesman, is Dennis Haysbert. He would be a good choice.
WHO DAT!!! (sue me No Fun League)
Dennis Haysbert (is the guy fro the Allstate commercials) he's another good one... also from 24.
Pigs have flown! Hell has frozen over! The Saints HAVE WON the Superbowl!!
Goodman
After hearing him narrate the doc about LSU’s season after Katrina, i cant think of anyone better.

He does have a great voice, and he loves NOLA... but, HCJr gets my vote.
Pigs have flown! Hell has frozen over! The Saints HAVE WON the Superbowl!!
Harry Connick Jr.
Or as BayouRebel stated, Jim Henderson.

I chose none of the above, but I'd settle for Carville and Goodman. See below.
My choices are Harry Connick Jr., Wynton Marsalis, Randy Newman or especially John Larroquette.
Snap, place, kick! And it's good! It's good! It's goo-hoo-hood! Pigs have flown! Hell Has frozen over! The Saints are going to the Superbowl!

Harry Connick Jr. +1,000
NO DOUBT ABOUT IT!
Pigs have flown! Hell has frozen over! The Saints HAVE WON the Superbowl!!
I wouldn't mind hearing John Goodman do it
I wouldn’t complain about Ron Perlman either simply because his voice overs are incredibly awesome.

Of course, I’ve been known to give extremely bad ideas in my time.
And the eighth and final rule: if this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight.
Does Ron have a connection to NOLA?
If not, and we’re just throwing out names… my #2 would be Kiefer Sutherland. He rocks!!!
Pigs have flown! Hell has frozen over! The Saints HAVE WON the Superbowl!!
my vote goes to Harry Connick or John Goodman
both have ties to the city.
LOVE MY SHOCKMEISTER AND THE COOL BREES!
Harry Connick Jr
is such an a**. I don’t like that guy. So cocky. I saw the little clip on when he met Drew Brees and although he was excited his attitude was so crappy.

Really?
The clip where they went to the 9th Ward (the “Musicians Village”) together?
HCJr seemed star struck when he met Drew. And they looked like they were genuinely having a good time.
Pigs have flown! Hell has frozen over! The Saints HAVE WON the Superbowl!!
well
Carville and Lee make me want to puke.
I vote for Connick, Hendersen, or our very own GRIS GRIS MAN!!!!
Now that's the ticket....

The base paths belonged to me, the runner. The rules gave me the right. I always went into a bag full speed, feet first. I had sharp spikes on my shoes. If the baseman stood where he had no business to be and got hurt, that was his fault. -Ty Cobb
They won't let Jim do it. It's always about the actors on AG.

So does this air
On the NFL network? Are they like the specials HBO does before big fights? The Patton/Mayweather one was AWESOME! I would imagine it’s similar to those? Can’t wait! Can you get the DVD?

yes...they air on NFL network
Which BTW is a fantastic sports station. It is a quantum leap beyond NBA TV. It has literaaly revolutionized how i watch football on sundays. If you can get it with your cable provider i highly suggest it. u wont be disappointed. Just a few of its highliths NFL reply 3 days a week, NFL Redzone, soundeffects, the coaches show etc, etc.
But alas, i digress. They really are great. I’ve seen several of them. The only thing i dont like is that they only interview certain players and coaches. Imagine watching the “America’s Game” for The Rams Titans Superbowl and they only players that give commentary are Az Hakim, Orlando Pace, and Kevin Carter and Mike Martz..
While I love NFL films
My friends always joke about how awful the production is on that network. Also Deion Sanders and Michael Irvin are extremely annoying. Deion’s suits are so bad – they remind me of suits a flashy 80’s pastor would wear.

Production quality...
is not my strong suit, I’m just talking about that networks ability to deliver NFL football as a product. yeah deion is annoying and irvin is a fool, but every network has those guys. The good thing is that unless it invloves highlights or the game of the week they are not around. In fact from what i can see they are only “on the air” on sundays.
I always at least hope Deion is putting some money into the New Orleans economy by getting his suits at Soul Train Fashions.
"The Colts were punching at it and grabbing for it, trying to get it out. But I didn't care if they broke all my fingers. There was absolutely no way in the world I was going to let go of that ball. That was our ball.''-Chris Reis
UHHHH....ME!
As much as i’d love to do it, i doubt any of you would be as thrilled to hear my high-pitched, southern drawl. Thus, I’d like to see a native son or daughter narrate the masterpiece. I’d vote for HCJr., but he might get annoying. How about Danny Glover, his narration has always seemed gritty and real and capable of truly capturing a moment for what it was rather how it was…that is just somebody reading what somebody else said it was like.
I like
Samuel L. Jackson or Morgan Freeman

I’d love to see that snotty bastard have to say something good about the Saints.Darth Vader would be good too, but my #1 would be the guy who does the Allstate commercials.
I'll be your huckleberry- Doc Holliday to Ringo
my question is who are the players that are going to be commenting?
i would vote for drew, vilma and maybe shockey as the 3rd

And Sharper
He’s articulate and outspoken—you know you’ll get something worth quoting from him. And, of course, Payton.
"We’re running Ambush."
My picks
I could only narrow it down to four. I think some of the AG’s had four interviewees, but I can’t remember:
1) Coach Payton.
2) Drew.
3) Shockey.
4) Toss-up between Sharper, Vilma or Anthony.

Or, really, a regular person from New Orleans? No one famous, but someone with a great voice? Otherwise, I’d love to see Morgan Freeman. Saw him in the Blind Side Saturday before the game….great movie!

I actually would love to see Liev Schreiber do it
He has nothing to do with New Orleans, though.

Richard Simmons is from New Orleans
He even went to high school with my father in law. He should be available and prorpbaly cheap too
I'm just of the opinion that the person who narrates
Has to be from New Orleans.
And it has to be someone Saints fans adore.
That narrows it down to Jim Henderson for me, but Harry Connick Jr. is a great representative of our town, and he’s also got a great voice.

I can see where they'd go with Connick
Because he might bring in some music-lover viewers/purchasers of the DVD that normally wouldn’t go for football, and he has a nice booming N’Awlins-sounding voice, and he’s a “star” of film (Independence Day, that latest chick flick “fish-out-of-water” movie with Renee Zelleiweger, that movie where he was a serial killer stalking a cop/FBI agent who wouldn’t leave her house – ?), TV (Will and Grace a few years back), music (multi-grammy winner), and Broadway (did anyone see him as the omnivorous plant in Little Shop of Horrors? – LOL I’m lying about that one).
