"Saints" The Movie
Ok, I got this idea when I commented this in a previous fanshot. Who would you pick to be the main character's in a 2009 season Saints movie? Try to stick to the primary players, but if there's someone who you really wanna pick go for it.
Here's what mine would look like:
* Drew Brees - Viggo Mortensen {this one isn't even close...but how bad ass would it be to have Aragorn marching down the field on the Colts in the Superbowl!]
via www.boston.com
* Sean Payton - Bruce Willis* [I think Bruce could pull off the voice and the squinty eyed-ness of our great coach]
via offsideswithfletcher.files.wordpress.com
* Reggie Bush - Mekhi Phifer* [I was trying to go with a "smaller-ish" kinda guy that's got that fresh face]
via www.studentsoftheworld.info
Pierre Thomas - anyone got one for pierre?
*Marques Colston- Robert Meachem* [Do they look alike to you? I think I'm running out of african american actors...]
* Robert Meachem - Marques Colston * [see above]
via nfldotcom.files.wordpress.com
via www.blogcdn.com
* Lance Moore - Drake *
via djmobeatz.files.wordpress.com
via chicksinthehuddle.com
* Jahri Evans - The same guy from the blind side?* [this is harder than I thought...]
via o.aolcdn.com
* Will Smith - Will Smith!* [ok maybe it's a reach on this one...]
* Jeremy Shockey - Seth Rogen* [Ok...maybe this one is horrible but I needed something...]
via images2.wikia.nocookie.net
via siliconangle.com
* Darren Sharper - Jamie Foxx* [Gotta have that smile right?]
* Tracy Porter - Ron Artest*
via www.pe.com
via trumbullisland.com
and of course my favorite: Quentin Tarantino playing Mickey Loomis!
Ok...maybe I'm not the best at this...what's your ideas?

Tom Benson = Charles Durning. No, he doesn’t look just like Benson, but he’s too good an actor to pass up.
Rita Benson = Angelina Jolie. Hey, this is Hollywood.
For the reenactment of the Super Bowl sequences, negotiations with The Who broke down, and they had to be replaced with animatronic characters from Pirates of the Caribbean. Nobody noticed.
"Time you enjoy wasting, was not wasted.." --J.O.L.
HA! I was watching Oh Brother Where Art Thou? last night
<This isn’t from that but it’s closer to Benson.
I’m sure Rita will be flattered.
Boom on The Who.
I'm a faker, a paper clown
Brian Dennehy or the Dad from Wonder Years as Benson and Mary Steenburgen as Gayle
and that bald fat guy from mtv movie stuff a few years ago as Benson’s skinhead grandson who manages the ranches for Benson
with J.Lo as Rita, and
Arsenio Hall as Khai Harley
and
Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio as Vicky Neumeyer, the skilled team legal counsel who can’t shake the fact that everyone thinks she’s Loomis’ administrative aide. (hilarity ensues when she’s asked to fix the paper jam…)
oh, wait, this is turning into a wacky sitcom on the WB – SORRY!

Miss Gayle (sorry I really like Charles Durning and J.Lo?? I know it’s Hollywood but..)
Khai
Close enough.
VICKYYY!!
More hilarity, please

well done, Stu - Great use of google images
Durning is much better than Dennehey.
And if Vicky just had her hair and jewelry upgraded to Hollywood levels, she’d be right there! LOL

The girlfriend & I have been talking about this since the SB!
…we hadn’t figured out Drew, but Viggo is PERFECT!
Bruce Willis as SP is good, but we picked Billy Bob Thornton…
Who Dat? TWO DAT! Do dat AGAIN!!!
I don't like Viggo for Drew
For Payton, I think you have to somehow get Kenny Chesney to act. Seth Rogen as Shockey would just be hilarious.

Anybody think Roger Moore could make a good Jim Henderson?

I've got the plot!...
Christopher Lloyd is narrating the movie…but he also plays…dun dun dun…

And it starts out showing the redskins game…when Meachem strips the ball and the saints fans go wild…the camera shows the crowd… zooms in on the unknown whodat the narrator says “hold it there…that’s me…” and something cheezy like “and this was the moment we knew we were special”…an opening credits song plays…anyone got a good opening credits/closing credits song??
Woody Harrelson as Chris Reis!

no I don't think he will be available, if the steelers make a movie about the 2008 super bowl team
we have him locked up to play Mike Tomlin

Players who should be in the Hall of Fame: Pat TIllman, Dwight White, Donnie Shell, L.C. Greenwood, Ray Guy, Steve Tasker, Greg Llyod, Andy Russel, Cris Carter, Kevin Greene and Jerry Kramer

Wow
That was foul to do the Colts like that, ESPECIALLY Peyton Manning, he’s one of us like it or not Louisiana bred. We are New Orleans.

You could always swing by Stampede Blue and give them permission to come up with a Courtney Roby look alike, if it makes you feel better. Born and raised in Indianapolis, he’s one of them … like it or not.

Don't forget the Colts were originally B'More's team.

I’m not sure what that has to do with anything. Had the Saints moved to New Orleans from Medicine Hat, would Peyton Manning be any less a New Orleanian?
"I was not on the boat in question." -Darren Sharper
I was referring to Roby.
Maybe he hasn’t always followed the Colts his whole life given they only moved there in ‘84. I thought it was later, which is why I suggested maybe he hadn’t been a Colts fan his WHOLE life.

Good point. He was born in ‘83. Who do you think he pulled for that first year of his existence? My guess would be Mrs. Roby’s left nipple.
The Fleur de lis’s post (to which I was responding) didn’t mention anything about Manning being a Saints fan his WHOLE life (nor at all). Just that he was Louisiana bred. As in “why are we ripping on one of our own?” My counterpoint being that Manning is no more “one of our own” than Roby is “one of Indianapolis’s”.
Neither has anything to do with the NFL team that happens to play their home games within those respective home cities. Had we been talking about a Jaguar from New Orleans and a Saint from Jacksonville, would the fact that Jacksonville never had an NFL team until 1996, have any bearing on how much of a Jackonvillian the latter was? Is a person born in New Orleans prior to 1966 less of a New Orleanian than someone born here since we were awarded a franchise?
I just don’t understand what the two NFL teams have to do with that. Hang on, I’ll pretend it does matter and one up you. Roby stayed in state and attended Indiana for four years. Where did Peyton attend college?

Can Reggie Bush play Reggie Bush?
He needs to play himself with lots of shirtless time in the movie. Also Bruce Willis is my husband’s man crush so if he played Payton my husband might actually watch it. He thinks Willis is a bad ass and watches any of the Die Hard movies if they are on, even though he’s seen them for the umpteenth time.
Also Sean William Scott should play Fujita since he’s ripped and hilarious:

And since I am sure there will be a scene about the Vikings, how about the guy who played Corky for Farve?
