HOORAY for Peter King! (Seriously.)
In what is certainly a landmark media occurrence, in this week's Monday Morning Quarterback, the lofty, heavily overcaffeinated, thoroughly befavred Peter King had this to say . . .
I have my own problems with McNabb. I don't consider him on the Manning-Brady-Brees plane.
That's the first time I've ever seen an unqualified inclusion of Drew Brees in the top tier. As little quality recognition as he gave the Saints last year ("Not bad for #24!"), you gotta hand it to the old Latte' Guzzler.
Although one might argue that the billing should be "Brees-Brady-Manning" for "sayability" and to acknowledge the best of the three.

Plane?
I thought those three guys were just hoping to get a bus named after them…

We all knew as soon as Drew got his (overdue) ring he’d finally get recognized for what we already knew he was — one of the very best in the game at this time.
Wish people could have brought themselves to admit it beforehand, but better late than never, ya know?
For those who can't remember the uncapped FA rules, this link's for you.
i gave him props for that...but this??
I’ve also heard what a great draft this is, and I respect teams determined to build through the draft. Long term, it’s clearly the best way to build your team right. The last time I heard so many raves about a draft beforehand was the 2004 crop, with the three good quarterbacks (Rivers, Manning, Roethlisberger) and rock-solid depth at several other positions.
Well, I looked up that draft Sunday, and here were the fifth through 10th picks in this so-called superior draft:
5. Washington: Sean Taylor, S, Miami (Fla.).
6. Cleveland: Kellen Winslow, TE, Miami (Fla.).
7. Detroit: Roy Williams, WR, Texas.
8. Atlanta: DeAngelo Hall, CB, Virginia Tech.
9. Jacksonville: Reggie Williams, WR, Washington.
10. Houston: Dunta Robinson, CB, South Carolina.
Forgot to mention Robert Gallery, second overall pick. Six years later, six of the top 10 picks in a thought-to-be excellent draft are gone, with just traces of the impact they were supposed to have left on their teams. A seventh, Gallery, was so unimpressive at tackle the Raiders moved him to guard. It’s time for one of the QB-needy teams to step up. Seattle has the sixth and 14th picks, San Francisco the 13th and 17th picks.
come on…Sean Taylor??
Clown shoes....
I suppose we ought to be happy SOMEBODY has Drew Brees in the top tier of NFL quarterbacks, but Peter “clown shoes” King ought to be strung up by his toes for not putting Brees first. Schmuck….
"Gowin on fourth and 14 will punt it away. He hangs it very high, angling it for the near sideline...HAKIM DROPS THE BALL!!! HAKIM DROPS THE BALL!! Brian Milne might've fallen on it at the ten yard line! It's the New Orleans Saints' football! Brian Milne, the most unlikely hero of them all, falls on the fumble, the muff by Hakim! There is a God after all!" -- Jim Henderson
