“Can we”… like is it within the rules? Yes.
According to ESPN he’s got a contract that will pay him $10 million over the next two years, so I’m not sure we’d want to pick that up.
Do we want him? I don’t know enough about him. If you just go by stats, he was about as effective as Hargrove or Grant last year.
Pigs have flown! Hell has frozen over! The Saints HAVE WON the Superbowl!!
Too expensive...
I would think Chicago would want a significant draft pick for him seeing that they don’t pick until the third round. I like Alex Brown and I think he really stepped up last year, especially in the week two game against the Steelers, but being 30 and his large contract, I think the draft will get us some depth for less compensation.
With the 32nd pick of the 2010 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints take... The suspense is killing me!
Grant is a year older and was about to make $4M in 2010

Alex Brown-DL- Bears Mar. 26 – 9:23 am et
The Chicago Tribune reports the Bears are “working actively to deal” DE Alex Brown. Julius Peppers is taking Brown’s right end spot, and the team is moving Israel Idonije from tackle to end. With Peppers set to play the majority of snaps, there isn’t enough playing time for both Brown and Mark Anderson in a rotation. Due $5 million in each of the next two years, Brown is expected to be released if the Bears don’t find a taker. He’s averaged six sacks per season since 2003, and should at least be able to fetch a late-round pick.

I hope He doesn’t run a cross pattern against the Saints. Roman will nail Him.

If it works and they go into overtime is it sudden death or . . . eternal life?
