Around SBN: Notre Dame's Turnaround: How Have The Irish Done It?

For those participating in the mock draft:

I came up with a list of questions to ask the guys over at Big Blue View to help me accurately predict their draft day. I thought they might be helpful to everyone else, so I've listed them below (you'll obviously have to tailor them to your respective team). If you have any others that you're asking to your respective adopted team share those here so we can have the most accurate draft on the net.

1. What three players would you most like to see the G-Men draft in the first round? Which player do you like most, and why?

2. Who, in your opinion, is the organization most likely to draft in the first round? What factors make this more likely than the others?

3. What is the long shot scenario that might have a chance to play out on draft day as far as the Giants are concerned?

4. What is the worst case scenario for the Giants in this year's draft?

5. What position(s) are of most urgent need in your offense? Your defense? Which one is greater?

6. Are the Giants more likely to go for the best player available or fill a need at a specific position?

7. What other, if any, required reading would you recommend for me before I write my story?

Is this really the goal? Jesus1000, I’ve got the Raiders. Am I supposed to use logic pick or predict what Al Davis will do? (Dez Bryant!) Rhetorical questions. Let’s have it be a surprise. Or not.

Logic Pick, draft software developed by Mickey Loomis

I guess I meant “use logic in making the pick or…”

If it's accurate for Al Davis

It’s gotta be Jacoby Ford.

No, just find other positions for them. With the recession finally ending we can’t get it started right back up again! :)

I agree. If I’m in charge of the Steelers, it’s going to wind up being who I decided to take, NOT who Kevin Colbert would have taken, had he been in charge. If you want an accurate mock draft, assemble the real world GMs. I’m just here for the no-pressure simulation. If that ultimately leads to my selecting the BPA, not based on team need whatsoever, but rather just to screw the Ravens out of the opportunity to draft him, then so be it. As a GM, that should be my prerogative.

Considering the team rivalries in that division and how much they hate each others’ guts, the Steelers might very well try to do just that!

Why no trades?

There will be some teams that trade in the first round, so by eliminating that there is 0% chance we nail the first round. I know it is highly unlikely that we trade the same way that the teams wind up trading, but it’d be fun! I love to be able to email another CSCer and see if I could move up a few spots to get my guy. I know it isn’t the norm in mocks to allow trades, but I think we can do better than the norm.
