Around SBN: Jeff Sullivan's MLB Trade Deadline Primer

Last year, Saints tight end Jeremy Shockey took to Twitter to unload on former teammate Kevin Houser.

But Shockey is no longer taking matters into his own fingers. He's taking Houser to court.

David Hammer of the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that Shockey and former Saints defensive end Charles Grant have sued Houser for allegedly duping them and others into investing thousands in a film company as part of a tax-credit scam.

Investment Advice

Just after the film studio went under Shockey commented on his webpage/facebook/twitter/whatever about the incident and called Kevin Houser “Chad.” Before you make any investment, you might at least want to know the name of the guy who is giving you investment advice. Just saying.

He may have been trying to spell “Chump”.

Weirdness.

Snap, place, kick! And it's good! It's good! It's goo-hoo-hood! Pigs have flown! Hell Has frozen over! The Saints are going to the Superbowl!

Speaking of which, I recently counted the rotations on Jason Kyle’s NFC Championship winning snap in slow motion (17.25), and it actually WAS more than Houser’s 2008 rotations per snap average (16.92).

Hats off to PayLoo for being forthright about the switch.

I suspect this is one of those situations when everybody knows he’s lying but in order to avoid legal problems he had to lie, even though everybody knew it was one. But since they couldn’t technically prove it was a lie…

Former Saints snapper?

Do they mean Willie Roaf’s wife?

Yeah . . .

. . . I didn’t write it without a little pang of guilt, but I’ve been reading so much Deadspin and Kissing Suzy Kolber lately . . .

I used to like Kevin Houser

He gave me a football at a game back in 2006 and I thought that was a classy thing to do. I now think that he was trying to write that off on his taxes as a charitable donation.
