Don’t be talking bout me like dat
Seems to be a favorite of Gdub, his teammates, and Jesus1000. Went to Stanford. How smart do you have to be to be accepted on a football scholarship at Stanford? No wikipedia entry but does have his own website:

At Stanford Leigh was honored as an Academic All-American and a member of the Pac-10’s All-Academic Team, while majoring in Political Science and African American Studies. Leigh remained involved in Stanford student body, where he was a member of the NAACP, Black Student Union (BSU), and the President of the Alpha Mu Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

I didn’t make all-academic anything at Emporia State University. Good job, Leigh.

Stanford = Ivy league caliber school

Even the walk-ons are academic high achievers. I’m impressed. Tuition =$50K but the do have football scholarships.

You’ve convinced me. Nab Toby Gerhart in the 2nd and trade for Trent Edwards as our backup!

Too did okay.

I mean for an eighth round draft pick, that is.

Why are you putting him down

what this guy lacks in talent he makes up for in heart. i’ve said this on a few of my posts, but in one game when we were out of corners he dislocated his shoulder and came back just a few plays later and made a key stop, hitting the reciever w that same shoulder… that takes guts, and until you can get on the field and do something like that, dont talk trash.

blah!!!!

He is a liability at corner and proved it in that very game!!!! Just because he has heart doesn’t mean we can’t upgrade…. don’t get your panties in a wad.

With the 32nd pick of the 2010 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints take... The suspense is killing me!

Who would you rather?

Leigh Torrence or that guy who i can’t say his name.. he used to be #42

by vanondubs on Mar 10, 2010 12:56 AM CST reply actions

neither!!!

I don’t want either guy near my starting line up… not in the nickel, not in the dime, not even in the fabled 76.4 cent piece spot! But hey, but at least Chasin’ David made a few ints!

I would rather have the baby seal

Than the old #42. I was at the Saints/Texans game when he got burnt by Andre Johnson for an 80yard score. That guy never got within 15 yards of Johnson. He was as wide open as Devery Henderson was when they played the Patriots this past year.

Thank you for not saying his name.

I’d rather an empty roster spot than the old #42.

No one covers better than him. That is… he gave up more yards to receivers he covered than receivers that were not covered at all.

I thank GW/SP/ML every Sunday for our New Forty-Two.

And, with an empty roster spot, we wouldn’t even consider putting him on the field.

You might want to check out this article written just prior to Torrence arriving in New Orleans. Seems he was well liked and respected on that team as both a player and a teammate, prior to DeAngelo Hall being brought in. Just because he doesn’t crack Oreo jokes during the Super Bowl, doesn’t mean his limited abilities on defense are all he brings to the table.

“I’m about to cry,” one Redskin said when informed that Torrence was on waivers. “Why would they let Leigh go? That dude did a good job for us and was only getting better. That doesn’t make sense.”

Did any Saints players “almost cry” when Fujita left? If so, I haven’t read anything about it.

Of Course They Cried

Any time you lose someone as valuable as Fujita, your team takes a hit, and team mates get very emotional. At least that is the way it played out in my mind. I am sure that there were a few guys that did get emotional over the departure of the New Orleans Saints leader of the “Snow Patrol” as Fujita commonly referred to the LB Corps. I bet Shanle is probably a little teared up right now.

I bet the band of barbed wire tattooed around his arm is helping him hold it all together.

I once thought

About getting the Barb Wire tat around my bicep, but I decided to go for a variance of barbed wire holding a cross to each forearm. I do dig the groovy tats that players have these days though.
