Mock Draft v2.0
Thanks for all the comments on the Mock Draft v1.0. I wholeheartedly disagree with most of them, however you will see some changes in my mock as I did go back and check out some more game film, and read some more opinions on the potential draftees. Previous picks in parentheses
1. St. Louis Rams- Sam Bradford QB: No change here. Great pro day, despite rumours that he won't sign prior to the draft the Rams still take him.(Bradford)
2. Detroit Lions- Russel Okung OT: In the film I watched over the week, Okung was getting more push than Bulaga was. Although I still like Bulaga, Okung is looking like the better talent. Regardless of what the Lions fans think, Matt Stafford needs his backside protected. Ask Joe Theismann.(Bryan Bulaga)
3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Gerald McCoy DT: McCoy is still there guy.(McCoy)
4. Washington Redskins- Anthony Davis OT: He's moving up on a lot of draft boards. Mike Shanahan does want Clausen, but the need to replace Chris Samuels is too great. He'll go for a QB later in the draft.(Okung)
5. Kansas City Chiefs- Trent Williams OT: I still see the Chiefs taking him, although a move at receiver might not be so surprising. (Williams)
6. Seattle Seahawks- C.J. Spiller RB: Comes in to alleviate pressure off Matt Hasselbeck/Charlie Whitehurst and improve an anemic running game.(Spiller)
7. Cleveland Browns- Eric Berry S: He's still there guy.(Berry)
8. Oakland Raiders- Ndamukong Suh DT: Once again, he drops to them and Al Davis isn't that sterupid.(Suh)
9. Buffalo Bills- Bryan Bulaga OT: Bulaga drops all the way to 9 and Chan Gailey is ecstatic. Too many questions about Clausen's character. (Davis)
10. Jacksonville Jaguars- Demaryius Thomas WR: I still think the Jags need to get a good WR for Garrard and Thomas could easily fill that gap.(Thomas)
11. Denver Broncos- Derrick Morgan DE: I think Morgan will end up being a better pass rusher than Pierre-Paul, and the Broncos D will thrive on getting at the QB. (Jason Pierre-Paul)
12. Miami Dolphins- Sergio Kindle OLB: OLB is still there biggest hole and Kindle can be plugged in immediately.(Kindle)
13. San Fransico 49ers- Jimmy Clausen QB: I've talked to some people that are following the 49ers very closely and they agree that Clausen should be taken here if he drops this far. There isn't much confidence in Alex Smith. (Clausen)
14. Seattle Seahawks- Taylor Mays S: I still think Pete Carrol wants to take the player he's groomed for the NFL for 4 years, and it's a best case scenario for Mays. (Mays)
15. New York Giants- Rolando McClain LB: The Giants need somebody to fill the hole left by Antonio Pierce. (McClain)
16. Tenessee Titans- Joe Haden CB: He'll study under Nick Harper and end up taking over mid-year. (Haden)
17. San Fransico 49ers- Dez Bryant WR: They'll look at Mike Iupati and Maurkice Pouncey, but with Clausen just taken, a recieving tandem of Michael Crabtree and Bryant, with Frank Gore in the backfield, it will be an easy rookie year.(Pouncey)
18. Pittsburgh Steelers- Dan Williams DT: I still see them bringing in a guy to replace Casey Hampton in a few years.(Williams)
19. Atlanta Falcons- Jason Pierre-Paul DE/OLB: The Falcons need to get better rushing the passer. Pierre-Paul gets them better immediately.(Morgan)
20. Houston Texans- Kyle Wilson CB: They still need a CB with Dunta Robinson gone. (Wilson)
21. Cincinnati Bengals- Jermaine Gresham TE: A TE is still the only piece missing in the Bengals offense and Gresham can work the middle. (Gresham)
22. New England Patriots- Brandon Spikes LB: Spikes and Jerod Mayo can be a very good inside linebacker tandem for years to come. (Spikes)
23. Green Bay Packers- Devin McCourty CB: Aging cornerbacks lead to this pick. Al Harris and Charles Woodson need someone to be able to take over for them and McCourty can do that. (McCourty)
24. Philadelphia Eagles- Mike Iupati OG: Former Pro Bowl OG Shawn Andrews being released makes this pick an easy choice for the Eagles. (Iupati)
25. Baltimore Ravens- Sean Lee LB: Ray Lewis will play as long as he wants, which just means Lee gets to study him from up close. (Bryant)
26. Arizona Cardinals- Earl Thomas S: This makes up for the loss of Antrel Rolle. (Lee)
27. Dallas Cowboys- Arrelious Benn WR: Earl Thomas would also have been a good pick had he dropped to the Cowboys. Miles Austin gets someone to play opposite him, and Roy Williams moves to the bench where he should be.(Benn)
28. San Diego Chargers- Terrence Cody NT: The Chargers need to replace Jamal Williams and Cody can do that. (Cody)
29. New York Jets- Brandon Graham DE: Graham can be a good edge rusher in Rex Ryan's system. (Graham)
30. Minnesota Vikings- Jahvid Best RB: Replacing Chester Taylor won't be easy, but Jahvid Best does a good job.(Best)
31. Indianapolis Colts- Maurkice Pouncey C: Jeff Saturday isn't getting younger and Pouncey can move to OG if needed. (Odrick)
32. New Orleans Saints- Sean Weatherspoon OLB: We need to get replacements at OLB and DE, and Weatherspoon is too good to pass up. (Weatherspoon)
Once again, feel free to state your opinions.
*Note: This Mock Draft was made prior to my looking at the trade between Cleveland and Philadelphia.

I think that
You dropped Suh too much, he’s definatly a top 5 pick. And i hope we can get Weatherspoon
No way Suh falls to 8th.
If the Lions are stupid enough to pass on him teams 3-7 wouldn’t make that mistake. And I mean every single one of those 5 teams would take Suh over who you have them taking.
"I want to hand this trophy to the MVP of the Super Bowl -- and the MVP of the entire league.''
-- Saints coach Sean Payton, handing the Vince Lombardi Trophy to Drew Brees after Super Bowl 44.
No doubt about it.
"They're ready to be like 'Same Old Saints'" - Roman Harper, on each of the New Orleans Saints vanquished foes of 2009
I could see it happening...
because other than the Redskins and the Seahawks, the other teams run a 3 4 scheme, which Suh is not a DT in. You can say they can move him to 3 4 DE, but do you really take a player that high and move him out of position? Maybe, maybe not. As for Washington, the have Albert Haynseworth and have a huge need at OL now the Chris Samuels has retired. I would think the Seahawks would be the only team before Oakland that would take him, and from what I have seen, they’d be foolish not… but I think to say that “every single one of those 5 teams would take Suh over who you have them taking” is a little too strong…
On another note, my man-crush on Sean Weatherspoon has forced me to say that I love the Saints pick and I just hope thats what happens.
With the 32nd pick of the 2010 NFL Draft, the New Orleans Saints say "Sean Weatherspoon, come on down!!!"
And My Lions don't need a LT
We NEED a LG to compliment Backus who was tagged as one of the top Lt’s in the NFC. I wont be shocked if we draft Okung but he is not what we need when we have Mr. Dependable at Lt a guy who has NEVER missed a game in his entire career. If you would have looked at stats prior to doing your mock draft you would see a glaring stat for the lions for the last 8 years. We are always in the bottom 5 in the league against the run and the pass. So how does a LT help the defence out??? especially when you have 2 guys who are concidered to be the best players coming out at the DT position in the last decade. We upgraded the D-line some with KVB and Williams from the Browns but we can’t afford to not take one of these 2 guys at the #2 spot.
How many lumps you want Doc?
They do need a LT
Because then they could move Backus to his natural position at LG. And you can afford to pass up both of them at #2. Also, Detroits been named in rumors for Haynesworth, and it makes sense. Schwartz, KVB and Haynes back together? Talk about immediate upgrade
I honestly don’t understand why so many people are deadset on the Bengals drafting a TE. Even if they hadn’t spent a 3rd rounder on Coffman last year, when has their offense EVER been geared towards this position? Hell, why not just assume the Rams trade down into the middle of the first, rack up on ton of extra picks in the process and draft Graham? They use the TE just as often as the Bengals do. Surely it fills a “need”. Why not Atlanta two spots earlier? What, is Gonzo going to play forever? Is the Falcons “need” for a pass rusher THAT much greater than the Bengals “need” for anything OTHER than a TE? If there’s one common prediction that I just can’t buy into — at least, not based on any reasoning I’ve seen presented — Graham to Cincinnati has to be it.
