Let's get hyped for the Saints 2010/11 defense now!
Though the Saints didn't pick a LB or a safety in this year's draft, they got one of each last year and had them both go pretty quickly to the IR list before they even had a chance to take the field in preseason.
Watch this video of highlights on both Chip Vaughn and Stanley Arnoux from Wake Forest who will get their first chances to make an impact on the field in the NFL with the Saints this year:
Enjoy!

and you know what they say about a man with good hands...
We've got 27 ways to add up to 11 (players on the field). I came up with another one last night. -- GW

I don't know if he was guessing...
but if you watch chip on the play action, he doesn’t even bite with everyone else on the defense. i know its his responsibility, but i’m impressed. of course that is HIGHlights and not every play. so we will see.

I've been yammering about these guys since I got here last year...
…got to watch them a lot during their college careers, as WF is my local “big” college football program (I’m in Greensboro, NC, Wake Forest is in Winston-Salem, about 20 minutes west).
Vaughn is a smart kid, good speed, and hits like an LB; Arnoux is the same thing – smart kid, moves well, hits like a freight train, and has plenty of speed to move to OLB (he was a 4-4 ILB in college).
There’s a lot of traffic in the DB’s right now, which will make it tough for Vaughn to crack the starting lineup, but I’m almost 1000% certain that he will make the roster as a special teams guy and backup SS. Arnoux has a solid chance to see time as a starter, IMO, as he is at least as good as anyone on the roster and probably better.
Who Dat? TWO DAT! Do dat AGAIN!!!
I'm really looking forward to seeing these guys on the field...
and seeing what SP-GW-ML see in them, esp Arnoux.
It must be something pretty damn good (re: Arnoux); how else do you explain the complete lack of ‘activity’ at the LB position?

Thanks for the reads and all the comments fellas
Personally, I really like the upsides that I can see for Vaughn in these highlight videos but I am most excited to see what Arnoux can actually bring to the table for our team this year.
If you watch his film closely enough, you might notice how well he is able to stop and start with the ball carrier and react to the play in order to put himself in the right place at the right time.
He is exceptionally fast (hopefully, he hasn’t lost any of that speed because of his Achilles injury) and appears to be extremely smart in football terms of the word “smart”.
I can see Arnoux having a better chance at playing time and potentially even starting this year than Vaughn right now, but I would not be surprised if they both made an impact this year on the field (at least on special teams) for the Saints.
