Al Woods' Draft Days: 'I've Always Been with the Saints' (Pt. 3)

If you missed the previous two posts about my draft days, here they are again...

Too Nervous to Watch (Pt. 1)

And Then the Phone Rang (Pt. 2)

Maaaaan, growing up I was fascinated with that little symbol that represents the Saints.  I had no idea what it meant, and I didn't even understand how the game of football was played.  All I knew was that I liked that sticker on the side of their helmet, and that the Saints were my favorite team.

As I got older and began playing the game, myself, I started to understand more about football, which then increased my appreciation for the Saints.  Sure, they didn't win many games during my childhood, but I still never stopped supporting them.  I'm not one of those guys who jumps on and off bandwagons, depending on how a team is performing - I stick with them no matter what.  Win or lose, I'd fight for my favorite team as a kid, and now I'm gonna fight for them some more as an actual member of the Saints.

It hasn't even hit me yet that my dream has now become a reality - I'm still taking it all in.  I'm just like, "I CANNOT BELIEEEEEEEVE WHAT'S GOIN' ON!"  I just keep thanking God; because, without Him, I wouldn't have ever made it this far.  Life has proven to me that as long as I keep God first in my life, good things will come.  And, hopefully, I still have many more blessings heading my way...

Thanks for checking out these posts, guys.  Knowing that you support me enough to hear what's going on in my world, means more to me than you know.  And because you seem to be enjoying my articles, I wanna give you one more piece of material for tomorrow:  the video my girlfriend shot of me while I was on the phone being drafted by the Saints.

BOOM-ZINGA!
