(Video) Al Woods Receives New Orleans Saints' NFL Draft Call
If you missed the first three parts of my draft days posts, here they are again...
And Then the Phone Rang (Pt. 2)
I've Always Been with the Saints (Pt. 3)
I've been looking forward to showing you guys this video all week (I'm surprised I actually held out). It's about four minutes of me getting "The Call" from the Saints, and - seriously - I think I've already watched it about a million times. I'm so glad we filmed it.

That's awesome! ... Thanks for sharing that special moment, Al. We appreciate it.
(I like how Al was really respectful and grateful. Did you see the ESPN show with Gruden and the QB’s? ALL of them except one answered Gruden with “yeah”, “uh huh”, or a nod. Only one said “yes, sir”.)

Al, who's that @ 3:30 with the Cowgirls hat on? And, have you gotten him a Saints hat yet?

That put such a grin on my face Al. The way you reacted shows how much this means to you. Thanks for sharing this significant time in your life. It truly is a very special thing to share with us and i would be surprised if you realized how much it means to all of us.
Thanks again!

Thanks and congrats Al
The more I see this video and read your story about your draft experience, the more I get excited about watching you play this season. I’m hoping to see you in the black & gold for many years to come.
And as for the guy in the Cowboys hat, just make him regret buying it after you get done with Romo this Thanksgiving!

We are saying thank you before you even step out on the field
Sharing your joy and excitement as your dream came true is an act that has you ranked as one of my favorite Saints players already. My thoughts and prayers go out to you as you start your journey in the NFL.

I love the enthusiasm, and the emotion. I’m looking forward even more to seeing you in black and gold. WHO DAT!
Perhaps
It is the early version of the “BOOM-ZINGA” sack celebration.
1. In the first pose he imitates the opposing team QB flat on his back.
2. Second, he hunkers down to build up an explosive leap.
3. Third, he provides a fist pump for extra concentrated energy.
4. Finally, he jumps, and the height of the jump yells “BOOM-ZINGA” and then lands in that concentrated squat.

This may be a preview of his proposed quarterback sack dance!
I hope we see it OFTEN!!!

Excellent film
Keep that to show the grandkids. Looks like you went through your pro-day
routine out there on the front lawn. Great work big fella.
Where next?
Did the Times-pic just link to CSC?
They just posted Big Al’s video on their site. I’m thinking Triplett or someone might have been checking us out this morning. Could this be the first instance of the Time-Pic linking to our site, instead of the other way around? Actually, I remember them referencing us once before.

I believe this is called
a “scoop,” in journalistic parlance. Boom-zinga! Thanks, Al!

HOLY HELL
I’m gone for a few days and now we got a VIP section? It used to be Dave as the only star around here. Welcome aboard Al and thank you for posting here. Btw, since ya like BBQ if you’re ever in Kansas stop on by, we have some good places.

Thanks for posting on CSC Al. Now I have a question for you...
After reading your posts, and seeing this video, it is extremely refreshing to see your enthusiasm, excitement, and gratitude for being drafted by the Saints. You seem like one of us, very human, very likable, very genuine. You will quickly gain a very large and loyal fan base. Which leads me to my question…
After you were drafted by the Saints, I scoured the web, looking for your scouting reports. One criticism (can’t remember where it is from) stuck with me: It said you are “too nice” to be a dominant football player. I had never seen that before. “Too nice.” My question is two-fold actually. First, is that even a legitimate criticism? Is there merit to the idea that a player can be “too nice”? If so, is that a fair evaluation of yourself? Or is there a sort of “Jekyll and Hyde” transformation you go through on game day?
I would love to hear your take on this…
Stay healthy big man…

I remember a guy
who was extremely nice to opposing players out on the field and made the Hall of Fame. He’s one of the greatest defensive linemen in the history of the game. He would sack the quarterback and the say God Bless You and help them up. You might have heard of him
Peyton, I can eat Oreos faster than you!!!!
cant wait to be preached to
after im driven into the turf. but damn, he was a bad ass on D.

Being driven into the turf is actually one of God’s favorite tactics. Happens to most of us.

Let’s not lose sight of the fact that Reggie White was a:
a. defensive end
b. two years removed from college
before he ever set foot in the NFL. Say what you want about the USFL as compared to the NFL, but the talent level of that league dwarfs that of the SEC, even today. If Woods sniffs a Pro Bowl by his 4th season as a paid athlete (as White did), I’ll be ecstatic. If he racks up 54.5 sacks over that same stretch, I’ll eat an officially licensed Memphis Showboat mini helmet on YouTube.
"I was not on the boat in question." -Darren Sharper
Now
I’m gonna stick around that long just incase it comes true so we can hold you to that. Hmmm maybe CSC should put a section up where we can make predictions and such and what we will do if were right or wrong.
