Rotoworld.com: The New Orleans Times-Picayune's Jeff Duncan hears there "might be some legs" to a potential trade of unsigned restricted free agent LT Jammal Brown to the Redskins. Brown has been on the trading block for over two months, and the Redskins were reported to be interested in the week leading up to the draft. The Saints don't want to commit long-term to a player who missed all of last season with injuries, and Brown wants out of New Orleans. Washington is a good fit, with Artis Hicks potentially moving inside to address the hole at right guard.em>

Duncan tweets:

I'm hearing there might be some legs to the Jammal Brown-to-the-Redskins deal. Working it as we speak.

Chasing Internet rumors can be hazardous to your health. @RVA4179 But the rumors are going today, any word on Brown for Haynesworth.

Yes. @funkrevalator Are you confident enough to say say that the trade isn't going to happen?

Trade is possible. But it won't be for AH. {Albert Haynesworth} @alextmiller337: Not to disagree with u but ... I see brown signing his tender, then trading him.

A source has told me the Redskins have agreed on a trade for Jammal Brown. Still trying to confirm compensation.

I think you’re safe. That would be very unPayLoo-like to take that on, considering his performance.

Complications with Landry

Landry says he’ll only come to the Saints if Rhondi Barber’s twin brother will be his spokesman.
As my forefathers used to say, “No Tikki, no Landry.”

PFT:

There’s no word yet on what the Saints will receive. In unrelated news, Heaven is reporting an uptick in prayers containing the phrase “please not Albert Haynesworth.”
UPDATE: Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Redskins are “trying to finalize” the trade, and that it’s not believed to include Haynesworth.

more PFT:

Brown, one of the rare first-round picks in the 2005 draft who didn’t become a bust, missed all of the 2009 season due to injury. Jermon Bushrod, a fourth-rounder in 2007, proved that he can handle the load. Brown no longer is needed by the Saints, and the Redskins need to improve their offensive line.

NFP:

What the Redskins have paid in return for Brown, a restricted free agent who refused to sign his tender, is not known. Presumably, the Redskins will work out a longterm extension for Brown, a former Pro Bowl performer. Brown was replaced in the starting lineup by Jermon Bushrod last season in New Orleans and the Saints had an abundance of depth at the position.

rotoworld.com:

According to FoxSports.com’s Jay Glazer, the Saints will receive a conditional draft pick.

Conditional?

It better be a 1st or 2nd rounder depending on how he performs. I was hoping we’d get a halfway decent defensive player outta this.

I just realized that this story is now FOR REAL

because Pat Y. just reported that espn.com’s own Adam Schefter knows a guy in Washington who sez the ’Skins are close to finalizing a trade for JB. SOURCE

Thanks, Brother Hans!

I shouldn’t have called it a Grudge List. That was my frustration (unable to convince others to agree with me) speaking out.

But I was also tired of guys saying something would happen and I’d say “NO WAY is that going to happen” and then it wouldn’t happen and the guy goes on living his life as if it DID happen and I’m going GAAA! In my head, anyway. I needed to see what my prediction accuracy percentage really was. So it’s not really a grudge. Not even a “Told you so” thing. Well, maybe it is. I don’t know what it is. But I do know that we have much fewer enthusiastic Lito Sheppard fans around here, so… you’re welcome.
