I actually liked Jamal and am sorry to see him go, but I didn’t like the way he handled this situation. In my opinion, he should have said that, hey I was the starter and I’m going to come back and fight for my starting job. He felt like he wasn’t wanted here anymore, and in reality, I think the Saints were ready to move on, so I’m glad to see that he got what he wanted and wish him the best with his new team.

I`m all for Pierre to get a raise , but he might be a little more careful . There are hundreds of running backs out there as good or better than Thomas !!! He needs to do his job !!! If he wants more money have his agent put a stipulation in his contract like so many THOUSAND DOLLARS PER YARD GAINED . HE AND REGGIE WOULD BOTH GET OFF THEIR BUTTS THEN !!!

The Saints valued him enough to place him on injured reserve. They could have just as easily offered him an injury settlement and released him. Had they done that, he would have likely been signed to a contract by another team, out for the season or not. That would have entailed another signing bonus. In retaining him, they elected to deny him the opportunity to collect that bonus. That’s precisely why he deserves a ring. He was contractually bound to the Super Bowl winning team.

For the record, Brown did get a SB44 ring but says he won’t wear it b/c he did not earn it on the field. Will give it to his father instead.
