We've got to pull against McNab

If he does well, Philly gets the third round pick

You're right

Other than that, another well-reasoned and sensible position statement by Mr. Dave which I endorse completely. Good job.

I’m not going to sweat the difference between a 3rd and a 4th. With the return compensation factored in, it’s squat in terms of value. To be perfectly honest, as a fan of the game, I’d rather see McNabb gain redemption with the Skins, than the Saints “benefit” from his failure.

I'll give him a year to get his feet under him there

And then chear for him. Or would it be better if brown blocked well enough to go to pro bowl so we got a 6th rounder?

If brown went to pro bowl, then his good play would probably have resulted in good qb play by McNabb and/or good rb play.

Would it be better for the whole offense to do good and us get 4th and 6t? Or them to do bad and us get just a 3rd? Would it be possible for brown to do well without mcnabb doing well and us getting 3rd and 6th. Just trying to analyze something since no games to look at.

I seriously doubt Brown will be going to the Pro Bowl. If I had to assign percentages based on likelihood of occurrence, here’s how I’d break it down:

Redskins win 9 games: 70%
Redskins make playoffs: 65%
McNabb makes Pro Bowl: 50%
Brown makes Pro Bowl: 15%

Correct, as none are mutually exclusive to one another.

It's not that Brown screwed us over with frequent penalties

but with penalties at completely inopportune times. 3rd and long, drive killing inopportune times.

With any luck

Brown’s excess of opportune timelessness will help steer the Redskins and McNabb to an 8-8, Prowbowless season.

“3rd and long, drive killing inopportune times.”

Seems like 3rd and long would be the MOST opportune time for a penalty, if such a time even exists. Odds are you’re not going to convert to begin with and, assuming it’s a false start, that doesn’t change.

I would think the most inopportune time would be 3rd and less than an inch.

Ok, 1st and long would be more opportune, as you’d still have four downs to work with.
