Why I'll Miss Jammal Brown
Yeah I know we won the Superbowl without him, and have a couple guys to fill his spot, but Jammal Brown will leave us with a little inconsistency (performance wise). He might not have always been healthy, especially this past year, and I saw another article on how he gets penalized quite a bit, but his sacks allowed per year were quite good. Of this list (I just took a list of what someone called the "top 10 left tackles in the NFL"[and it's not bad]) he was 2nd to only Jared Gaither of the Baltimore Ravens in lowest sacks allowed p/ year. Jermon Bushrod allowed 7.5 sacks last year alone (which still puts him above D'brickashaw Ferguson). The LT's main job is to watch the QB's back, and Jammal Brown has done a great job protecting Drew Brees (and Aaron Brooks etc.)in his tenure with the Saints. And yeah, I didn't like what was going on with the contract situation, but it's a business and contract disputes happen. Hey I would be a little P-O'd if I wasn't getting either A. money A.1 guaranteed playing time or B. Traded. Here's hoping Bushrod and/or Charles Brown (or one of those draft picks at the least) pays off in the end.
| LT | Sacks Allowed/Year |
| Joe Thomas | 4.91 |
| Ryan Clady | 4.25 |
| Jake Long | 3.75 |
| Jared Gaither | 3.16 |
| Michael Roos | 3.90 |
| D'brickashaw Ferguson | 8.90 |
| Jordan Gross | 4.60 |
| Matt Light | 6.30 |
| Jammal Brown | 3.38 |
| Marcus McNeil | 5.60 |

That's why the trade is still kind of a bummer
A guaranteed 3rd round pick would make it a lot better

go back and look at Nfl Replay
on the nfl channell in 208 every game he was called numerous times for false start and holding on every game and most of the time those penalties accured in the red zone, I never liked j Brown and thought he was highly overrated and so did the Saints coaching staff that is why he is gone and making it to the probowl was a shock to me he better get on his knees and thank Drew Brees for making him look good, J Brown will be a flop with the foreskins you just wait and see from myself and alot of other fans good=bye and do not let the door hit you where the sun does not shine, and for him not to show up for the superbowl ring ceramoney shows he had no loyalty to any team mates so go brown you will not be missed unless you like alot of penalties.
you bring up an interesting point
if he got a holding penalty that avoided a sack, that skewed his stats. It kept Drew upright, but the play was nullified.

What about lefty QB's?
Are right tackles included in lists for blind side protection for left handed quarterbacks?
I never liked Brown either.
He wasn’t a team player, highly overrated. And let’s not forget..he was the king of holding and false start penalties. He cost us some key drives in 07 and 08
Never have cared for the so called pro. bowl
Think the cheer leaders of the two SB teams should square off in a mud wresling match.
What wonderful little gifts April Fools Day brings.

I have a question for everyone.
Why do all the news outlets say that Donavan Mcnabb performance has to be good for the saints to have a 3rd round pick.
I would think that Donavan Mcnabb performance had to be mediocore or poor in order for the saints to get that 3rd round pick.
Whis is what I understand:
If the Redskins win more than 8 games the Eagles get the Redskins 3rd round pick.
If the Redskins win 8 or less games the Saints get their third round pick, with a swap of picks in a later round.
If Jammal Brown plays 90% of all the downs for the Redskins offense then the Saints get an additional pick later on in the draft.
If this is correct, why would Saint Media outlets want the Redskins to do good this year?

You’re correct, it would be better if they performed poorly as a team, with only Brown standing out at what will likely be the RT position. I personally think the latter has a much better chance of transpiring than the former, but I wouldn’t bet a whole lot of money on either scenario. Nor do I put enough stock in the overall value of a 3rd round pick, as opposed to a 4th, to lose sleep over the way it all plays out.

Why lose the depth .
Hope you got a 2/5 or this team is going backwards . We lost a OT for 4 games due to suspension and lost all 4 ! It could be a building stone or the worst move of the year ? Wins in DEC will decide ???
