OMG! Nike has already produced a Tim Tebow shoe and the guy hasn't set foot on a pro-gridiron yet. Do they know something we don't? Is Timmy destined for greatness after all or do they think this is the only chance they'll have of marketing him; in the past tense?
BEAVERTON, OR -- The website Sole Collector is reporting that on July 9, quarterback Tim Tebow officially unveiled his Florida Gators themed Nike
Trainer 1.2, a collaboration shoe with EA Sports to celebrate the upcoming NCAA Football 11 videogame.
Along with the orange and blue coloring on the shoe, there are also several nods that tie in to Tebow's legendary collegiate career in Gainesville.
The word 'PROMISE' is stitched along the left heel and the date September 27, 2008, a touch reminding everyone of Tim's very famous "Promise" post-game speech after Florida's
loss to Ole Miss.
A series of years are stitched on the right heel, indicating Tim's Heisman Trophy, the Gators' '07 BCS National Championships, and Tim's All-America team honors.
The website also states that the shoe is not officially for sale yet, but limited quantites should be available in the very near future.
Perhaps the shoe should read, "I promise to sit on the bench and pay attention," followed by 2010, 2011
Michael Jordan has "Air Jordan." What should we name Timmy's new shoe?
