Saints Sign Patrick Ramsey and Jimmy Graham
Looks like another busy day for the Saints front office today, as they agreed to terms with veteran quarterback Patrick Ramsey, formerly of the awesome Tulane Green Wave. As a fellow alum, I'm happy to see Ramsey return to New Orleans.
The Saints also agreed to terms with captivating 2010 third-round draft pick Jimmy Graham from Miami. The Times-Pic has the story, but not much more information.
This leaves first round pick Patrick Robinson as the only drafted rookie to remain unsigned. Hopefully it gets done before the start of training camp.

Loomis usually lets 1st rounders miss the first few days of camp
“Lets” is probably not the correct word. I just don’t remember in recent years getting our 1st round guy signed before camp. They always seem to miss the first few days before finally agreeing to a deal.

The good new is Roger Saffold signed today.
He’s the first pick in the second round right after Robinson, so it helps to provide info on where his contract should be. That and with the 27th pick signing as well, there’s not a lot of wiggle room. Most likely they’re down to the dotting "I"s and crossing "T"’s portion. At worse I’d think he’d be in by this weekend.

I know, I'm hoping Loomis can turn the corner this year...
He’s had success with his negotiation tactics. He must know what P.Rob is going to get at this point. Let’s just get this guy into camp so we have a fully trained rookie for once!
If any vets feel like holding out for a few weeks I’m totally okay with that just so they can stay freshest for the season. ;)
Pat Ramsey
This signing is an assett, cuz Brunell looked every bit of 39 last year in the finale against Carolina.
Maybe Ramsey will come back by the Campus Connection !

Welcome to CSC.
I see this is your first post. I also notice you could use an avatar (appears to the far left of your posts). Don’t know what you prefer, but this one seems nice and kinda fits your name:

Speaking of the Dome
Has anyone else noticed the new Gold plating they’re putting on the Dome? And how since they’re only halfway done the SUPERDOME IS LITERALLY BLACK AND GOLD.
Cha. We know how to celebrate a Superbowl victory.
OK, what kind of nickname joke options can we have for Jimmy Graham
Graham cracker, Graham Parsons, Teddy Grahams, Billy Graham…what else?
Sean Payton and the players need to focus on the upcoming season and defending the title but I don’t.

Maybe
Kilo Graham if he’s as good as a lot of us hope he’ll be;
Milli Graham if it turns out he should have stuck with basketball.

and Milli-Vanilli Graham if he lipsynchs all his hit songs

Or:
The following is from a May 17, 2010 article on nola.com:
“For New Orleans Saints tight end Jimmy Graham, however, all the scary stuff happened off the field.
And most of that happened years ago when, at the age of 11, he awoke at the end of a car ride and discovered his mother was signing him into a group home. She dropped him off with two sacks of clothes, and with his sister wailing in the back, drove off into the night.”
So my question is, if he doesn’t work out and lipsyncs all his hit songs, “Is he Milli-Vanilli-waifer Graham?”

Having a hard time getting happy about the patrick ramsey situation.
If it was purely from a competition standpoint I can understand.
If it is not and they pay the man a couple million dollars to hold a position that may not be called, just to produce the same or similiar results as our rookie QB and our 2nd year resident QB, well that is just is flat out retarted.
People getting excited about P. Ramsey do not make sense to me. What has it realy done? What has he accomplished in his career. His job security revolve around the potential that someone might get hurt.

I'm with you...
I just don’t get the Ramsey move. I mean, if the kids (Chase and Canfield) do better than him in camp and/or in preseason games, do you actually think they’ll cut him? I’ll bet not!
"It's about time that something good like this happened." - Drew Brees
All they have to do is slightly worse and that still would be better.
Save that extra money and risk it on another player say Brian Westbrook?

Slightly better than poor is still poor.
Kinda crappy is still crappy. Just like greatness is great.

why can't I find a list of all the 2010 rookie signings by round so far?
only found a list of signed 1st rounders and no list of 2nd or beyond rounders signed on searches of nfl.com and espn.com.
Anyone have success with this? Maybe I used bad search terms…

Here you go, my brother…

(oh, sorry… I see you wanted BY ROUND)
Want to go to the Saints vs. Cowboys game? I've got an extra ticket.
(doh! I must have read something wrong when I apologized…. I do believe that IS what you were looking for.)
fyi… I searched Google for: nfl rookie signings
That blog was the first two results… that link was the second result.

Have faith!
Remember when Brees came to NO there wasn’t much fan fare and he was an above average QB with a questionable shoulder. Coach P. turned him into arguably the best in the game and if Peyton Manning retired today, I don’t think there would be an argument. Also, look at Ramsey’s situations…Never had a good offensive line and NO’s is great….Never had a core of really good receivers and once again NO’s is great! Besides I think we all agree that we never want to see him play anyway! Unless were by like 50 in the fourth!
