Another Rediculous Bash Reggie Article
via a323.yahoofs.com
Rivals.com has an article by Holly Anderson that strikes me as being awfully petty. I'm sure some will disagree with my assessment.
Ok, so they changed the number on the cover from 7 to 6. WOW~! Now THAT is newsworthy? I think this is petty reporting because:
A: How many people will have a copy of this magazine compared to how many have now seen the link on Yahoo Home Page?
B: Of the people who actually have a copy, how many will look at the number "6" and know if it includes Reggie Bush or not?
the Trojans' media guide has undergone some late-breaking revisionism to account for Reggie Bush's vanishing Heisman Trophy, apparently overnight:
"late-breaking revisionism" / "overnight" Isn't that just a spectacular way of saying, "They changed the 7 to a 6 yesterday."
I really don't care if Reggie keeps his trophy or not but, c'mon, media. Give it a rest already. Jeeeeeeeez!

If you attended Notre Dame or Ohio State it may matter, as that’s one less school you now hold the Heisman Trophy record with.

Yep. I'm sure in South Bend and Columbus they're partying like it's Mardi Gras.
Fat, dumb, and happy. Hell, two out of three ain't bad!

Another thing from the article...
Its important to note that USC isn’t removing any of the other stats Reggie contributed to. They still want to claim the bowl wins he played in, his all-american status, and his status as an NFL player. And didn’t the NCAA rulings vacate USC’s 2005 bowl win? Seems to me that would be the first thing they would be forced to change. I guess they think that nobody will notice keeping him on an all-american list with 155 other names, but when you get it down to 7 Heisman winners its easy to say “that #7 is Reggie Bush.” EIther accept Reggie’s legacy, or do away with all of it, but picking and choosing what you want to be remembered seems pretty petty.
"I want to hand this trophy to the MVP of the Super Bowl -- and the MVP of the entire league.''
-- Saints coach Sean Payton, handing the Vince Lombardi Trophy to Drew Brees after Super Bowl 44.
Thats exactly what I thought of.
If they want to sit there and pathetically please the NCAA instead of fighting for revision of the amatuer rule, then do that. But don’t discredit Bush for winning the Heisman and still take credit for his bowl wins, all american status, and NFL status. They look like little cowards to me.

Lame Kiffin returns to the scene of the crime,
Lame was on the USC staff thru Reggies’ time there, irony of ironies, "I Know Nuthing!, I think Lame’s present (bad) situation will overshadow , anything Reggie accomplished at USC. Lame…. not a type-o.
You think you know, and you don't know, and you never, ever will.-Jim Mora Sr.
I'm a USC supporter.
Reggie isn’t to blame for all the problems . We drafted a USC guy in the fourth . We may have stole him . The bad hype can be beneficial to some . But Bush isn’t the focus . NCAA coruption is ??? They always need a scapegoat …..
