Colston News
Interesting news from Rotoworld....
Marques Colston will start training camp on the active/PUP list after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his knee to correct a "lingering" issue during the offseason.
It's not known exactly when Colston underwent the procedure. GM Mickey Loomis insists it's nothing serious, and Colston is expected to pass his physical soon. It doesn't sound like a major concern for the Saints, but this is a story to track in training camp. Colston's fantasy value has survived a past scope in addition to a microfracture procedure, but the multiple knee surgeries are a red flag for his long-term value. Jul. 29 - 1:13 pm et
Someone will need to step up - maybe Arrington will get more of an opportunity???

From Mickey the Surprisingly Informative:
Can you explain the active PUP list?
“The active PUP list means that they count on the 80-man roster and that they can be activated onto the regular roster and be able to practice at any time. What it means is that they weren’t able to pass the physical today. They have a little time left in their rehab before they can be full go at practice. I would expect all four of these guys to be all full go and be activated within the next two weeks. I think Marques (Colston) for example will be early next week and I wouldn’t be surprised if Clint Ingram’s on the same timeframe. I think Darren (Sharper) and Robert (Meachem) might take a week longer. We expect all of these guys to be participating in practice full go prior to the first preseason game.”
What can they do as a member of the active PUP list?
They can’t participate in drills. They can work with the trainer and they can go to meetings. They can really do everything but the on-field work with the team. That’s what they’ll do."
If I am good I could add years to my life / I would rather add some life to my years.
maybe Arrington will get more of an opportunity???
I just read something about the Saints questioning Arrington’s dedication and conditioning. Trying to find the link. I’m not sure if he’ll ever capitalize on his opportunities.
Good times are comin',
but they sure comin' slow.
I remember that, too, Stu - just in the last couple of days
Sean Payton and the players need to focus on the upcoming season and defending the title but I don’t.

we'll see
Sean Payton and the players need to focus on the upcoming season and defending the title but I don’t.
i doubt Arrington plays
unless they really miss Colston’s skillset of being tall, tough, and catching everything compared to what Moore/Henderson/Meachem bring. They also have Roby and Rod Harper had a great preseason last year. those are the likely replacements in my mind. also might mix in Reggie to the passing game more
Superbowl bound!!!...I know! do you?! Go Saints!!
Hopefully like S.Rice for my Vikes ?
They are just being cautious . I want both teams at full speed for week #1 . Brett wasn’t singled out . The Saints D-coach just opened his mouth at the wrong time . For years as a Vikes fan I hoped for such a hit on Brett . The league was late in calling the illegal hit . But football is football . A 300lbs. guy falls on ya and it’s gonna hurt legal or not . Players know this .
We need both teams at 100 % to see who in 2010 is the best . Yesterday was yesterday . Facing us in week one is a blessing for ya . 15 other teams will be gunning for the champs ! It’s best to take on the biggest dog in the yard first . Officiating will be tight . Noise , injuries and turnovers will be the key . Brett’s intangables makes this truely an even matchup . May the best team represent for 2010 .
Hopefully...
you will get your wish and we will both be 100% player wise for this game…what a way to start the season huh? IMHO you guys have a slight mental advantage in that revenge is a very strong motivating factor, I believe you guys believe you were the better team last time and you have had alot of study time on the Saints for this one.
On the other hand I believe we will prove to be a better team than last years, there won’t be nearly as much pressure on our guys as a championship game and Favre’s coming off surgery.
At any rate it will be one hell of a way to start the season, good luck to both teams, no injuries and WHO DAT SAY DEY GONNA BEAT DEM SAINTS!
