Saints' Camp Updates, Day 2 Morning Session
Below you'll find a number of tweets from the morning session practice. I warn against putting too much stock into these things because things can change day to day, but the two things that really stands out from all this information is that Sean Canfield may not have what it takes, and Lance Moore is looking very sharp.
@jeffduncantp #Saints RB Reggie Bush said he's the healithest he's been since his rookie season. Said at this time last year he was no better than 70 pct.Official_Saints Glenn Sharpe just made an interception off a tip on second to last play of practice
@6trainingcamp QB Sean Canfield. Tipped pass, INT. Canfield's arm is very very very weak. He'll be lucky to make the practice squad.
@6trainingcamp After looking rusty Friday QB Pat Ramsey looks crisp today.
@6trainingcamp Shockey just dropped a perfectly thrown 50 yard ball thrown by Brees over two DB's. Let's call it the NOT-top play of the day.
@Official_Saints Rod Harper continues his impressive morning with back-to-back catches across the middle
@6trainingcamp After a great day #1...rookie TE Jimmy Graham is struggling today. Several drops! @6trainingcamp Another day and Lance Moore just continues to catch everything.
jeffduncantp Usama Young is working with the first-team defense today at free safety.
@6trainingcamp RB Chris Ivory #48 from tiny Tiffin College looks good. RB P.J. Hill #43 looks real good. I was a fan of Hill last season.
@6trainingcamp Two consecutive days now that Saints have lined up in 3-4 defense when starters go against starters. 4 LB's are Vilma, Shanle, Evans, Dunbar
@Official_Saints Rod Harper made an impressive diving catch with Jabari Greer on the coverage
I'm thinking with Marques Colston and Robert Meachem both out and getting less reps, Lance Moore is ripping his way up the depth chart. He could be in for a 60+ catch season if he stays healthy. Thoughts? Am I just way ahead of myself here?

Rod Harper
Lived a few miles from Murray State University up until Thanksgiving of ’08. Actually missed that Monday night pounding of Green Bay during the move. Was thrilled to see Rod sign with the Saints and watch him last preseason. Was sad to see him go down with the injury. Glad he is back and still impressing the folks…
The Saints must repeat so I can watch the Saints win the Superbowl LIVE... Not on vhs two months later....
I went to the training camp this morning
And that ball to Shockey was tipped by the defenders right before it got to him. Hit him in the hands but had a little deflection on it. A few plays later Shockey had a nice physical grab in traffic and then punted the ball after the play. Haha. He’s already jacked up!
Moore did look really good. And Meach had really quick feet. Toe must be heeling well. He ran some non contact routes without corners involved. Canfield did try to force it in there some, but that’s what rooks do. Roby had some nice catches at WR. Greer looked good and P-Rob was rough, being a rookie corner is tough tho.
Anybody else go?

Rod Harper should make this team somehow
We have alot of players that don’t see the field except for special teams that are far less talented than Harper. Also, i’m not feeling too good about our D anymore after hearing that Evans was out there with the first team.
Superbowl bound!!!...I know! do you?! Go Saints!!
Ingram is still on pup.
And he was in the defensive huddle a lot trying to catch on. Also I saw arnoux and dunbar in there some. So I wouldn’t worry bout lb too much.

FYI: Huge links post coming later
Dave asked me to help post links and so I’ve just finished a story to post at 6:00 CST that has about 30 links to most of today’s stories from around the web and lots of embedded video. Some of it has already been posted in the Fanshot section, but that’s OK because things are coming in so fast that they disappear from the front page within minutes.
"As soon as Tony (Dungy) said we had no chance, I knew we had 'em right where we wanted 'em"--Coach Sean Payton right after Super Bowl XLIV with the Lombardi Trophy firmly in hand. WHO DAT!!

worth mentioning again
All members can change their profile so that more fanshots, fanposts and articles (posts) appear on the front page. I had mine set on 10 and bumped it to 15.
Click on your name up on the top bar and then click edit settings to make the changes.
I took on my father and I’m still walkin’
Took on all comers in some shape or form
Good advice
I never changed that until just now. It does provide a better front page view.

What are you, a power user or something?
Downside: SBNation sites load with glacial slowness (and that’s even with ads blocked, no Flash content, and a user stylesheet that sets huge swathes of useless gunk to “display: none”). Increase the amount that loads, and everything will slow down further. Just saying.
It was worth the wait.
Sean Canfield
I agree with @6trainingcamp’s tweet. I was paying attention to his throwing drills to TEs and RBs this morning. No velocity on the ball. Haven’t been impressed with his arm in the 2 practices I’ve been to so far. Pretty sure he’s a camp casualty somewhere down the line.
Taking the way back machine to June 14th..
Gimme Some Moore. Moore was a bit of a forgotten man last season due to injuries and whatnot. I think he comes back with a vengeance this coming season.
While I completely understand he’s getting extra reps right now, the fact of the matter is that people seem to have forgotten how good this guy is. While he’s not going to be starter on your fantasy team, I think he’s a great asset to the actual Saints team, and really hope he does well this season.
