We’ll just see about that, Mr. Kirwan. You’re going on the Grudge List, Mister.
He’s going on the List because I don’t like his headline. One of you English professors, help me out here: Is he using the word “catapult” correctly, assuming he means the Falcons will…. prevail? I don’t know what the hell he means.
Son, don't wait till the break of day
'Cause you know how time fades away.
HA!
I’m glad you saw my little note there. Kirwan just moved above John Clayton on my personal grudge list. That’s right. I’ve decided to keep my own and focus it on MSM prognostications. :)

catapult
You would be correct, you catapult past something, it is done to something, not about a motion, unless he is intending to say they are ready to toss the Saints somewhere. Either way, I am afraid Mr. Kirwan is going to have to spend a lot of time on my “Better off ignored” list.

Since you asked…no he is not using the word “catapult” correctly. Using the word in that regard means to shoot or spring forth as if flung. So unless he’s meaning the Falcons are preparing to hurl themselves at the Saints like they’re some kind of wall…he failed. He should have simply gone with the more pedestrian “leap frog”.
My guess—based on the fact that even major media outlets don’t proof their work anymore, is that he simply typed it wrong…he meant “catapult PAST Saints.” But even then he’d be using it incorrectly, because catapult isn’t reflexive. It would have to be “catapult thenselves past Saints.” Just one more epic failure on the part of professional wordsmiths.
It was worth the wait.
one thing I do NOT want to see tonight
Rotoworld.com:
Randy Moss-WR- Patriots Aug. 12 – 12:48 pm etMy expectation is, as in Super Bowl 42, Moss gets roughed up and frustrated, and can’t run his routes (when he is inclined to run them). That’s my expectation.
Randy Moss reportedly looks “a bit lighter and even a touch quicker” this season.
“Yeah, he is very talented, but he outworks 99 percent of the NFL,” said Moss’ trainer, willing to put the 33-year-old’s grueling workout regimen up against any player’s — even Larry Fitzgerald’s. “I’m definitely in some great, great shape,” Moss boasted early this offseason. He made the Saints secondary look slow in early-week practices.
Son, don't wait till the break of day
'Cause you know how time fades away.
He'll probably only play one series
I remember that P-Rob slapped down a pass to him on Tuesday. If Moss goes against our ones, Jabari can contain him.

Probably around 6PM CST
Dave will cue that up, I assume. I live outside the area and will have to wait until it’s later shown on NFL Network (10PM CST), so I plan on laying out of the thread so I can watch it later and pretend it’s live.

One of Jeff's most creative leads
FOXBORO, MASS. — Watch the New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints practice, and one understands why the teams have combined to win four of the past nine Super Bowls.
I like that. “Four of the past nine.” Of course, New England and New York have also won four of the past nine. Also, New England and Indianapolis. Also, New England and Tampa Bay! There’s nothing like getting paid for meaningless statements, is there Jeff?
It was worth the wait.
Anyone have any links or radio stations they are listening to?

How about this!?!?!?
Everyone watching the game later at 10pm Central, come back to the open thread and start it all over again while you watch!!! I might watch it twice myself!

There's an idea
Everyone who watched it earlier may spoil it for us, though. I plan on not knowing anything about the game until I watch it later. Let’s just avoid posts like “Hey, watch this” and “get ready for a Porter pick 6” or “watch Drew throw his fourth TD pass of first quarter.”

No sarcasm
We have a function on the back end that let’s us schedule posts to go up at a certain time. I write them at night (b/w 10pm and 2am) then schedule them to go up at 6am so you’ve got a fresh page to read with your morning cup of coffee.

Welker not playing tonight
Not that it matters to us. It’s just preseason. Here’s a link.
Rotoworld is wondering if the Saints will show interest in the other Adrian Peterson. That would be something to match up against the Vikes and also have an Adrian Peterson on our team. Of course, he’s not All Day.
Oh well, nevermind. I see the Seahawks just signed the other AP only minutes ago. We can do better. We may already have better in Hill and/or Ivory. That’s the main thing I’m looking at tonight. I hope they can impress and make us forget about the Hamilton injury.
