Brett Favre 3rd Annual Retirement Tour

On the occasion of the estimable Mr. Favre's triumphant return to professional football, and the beginning of Minnesota's long winter of discontent, let us remember some of the greatest moments of his previous tours--beginning with the greatest of them all.

Leave Freddie alone... LOL!
You are my people, you are my crowd, this is our music, we love it loud...
I thought that was a picture of Nigel Tufnel of Spinal Tap
and then I read the intro to the story
Sean Payton and the players need to focus on the upcoming season and defending the title but I don’t.

Fantastic
I only got through the first few lines and was scrolling down to rec. Snorted out loud on that one.
A+ for creativity.
Football is easy if you're crazy as hell
Very Good!
'The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.' G. K. Chesterton
Boom! Rec-a-rooney!
Ditto with Grumps…glad I wasn’t drinking since I woulda snorted it all over my monitor
Wow, you woulda been depressed if he
hadn’t come back after all this work! But little chance of that.
Actually
my wife and I came up with this the same night of the NFC championship. I had it ready to go the next day, but by then pity had set in, so I didn’t post it. Even after all the whining by the Vikings fans, I held back.
But now that the nonsense has started back up, I figure the world needs alternate voices.
It was worth the wait.
Mega-BOOM!
I’m happy to give you the 7th rec! I’m sure that pic is real and not Photoshopped, right?
"As soon as Tony (Dungy) said we had no chance, I knew we had 'em right where we wanted 'em"--Coach Sean Payton right after Super Bowl XLIV with the Lombardi Trophy firmly in hand. WHO DAT!!

I don’t know why, I just think that’s funny.
Excellent.
Tell me lies later, come and see me
I'll be around for a while.
OH MY GOD (Freddie Mercury)!
Brilliant! Bravo!
Snap, place, kick! And it's good! It's good! It's goo-hoo-hood! Pigs have flown! Hell Has frozen over! The Saints are going to the Superbowl!

Anybody catch this bit from Favre's press conference?
I can promise you this, not that I had ever set out as a goal to play 20 years, but 20 years and I’m done. This is the last year of my contract
He’s already retired for 2011! Man, he is really getting a jump on things this year. Maybe he’ll be out of retirement by mid-July next year.
"I want to hand this trophy to the MVP of the Super Bowl -- and the MVP of the entire league.''
-- Saints coach Sean Payton, handing the Vince Lombardi Trophy to Drew Brees after Super Bowl 44.
“This is the last year of my contract.”
That’s his out… so he can play again.
At the start of 2011, his new quote will be:
“I was just saying that my contract is over, and I don’t know what the future holds… but, yeah, I just signed a one year deal with the Cardinals. They said they wanted me to clean up the mess that Matt Leinart left.”
Want to go to the Saints vs. Cowboys game? I've got an extra ticket.
That does get a rec
because of the sheer hilarity

There's Rec #30 for ya.
Just because this is too good not to. Probably the most creative thing this site has had yet.

My sincerest thanks
for all the recs. I’m glad everyone liked it so much…now I’m just sorry I didn’t post it sooner. And my wife thanks you, and Farrokh thanks you. I’m not sure if Brett thanks you or not, he’s not talking to me these days. Was it something I said?
It was worth the wait.
M-E Too, that is one of your children, right?
Will he/she ever become a CSC member and post? The Force is strong in this one…

How about "Another one bites the dust" in honor of our fallen runningbacks

and then the inevitable commercial
with Farve saying, “I’m Brett Favre, and PCs were my idea.”

Watching Vikes-49ers
Brett already got hammered in their first serie. Hope Niners leave some for Sept. 9th…
Repeat? Under construction...
He's done for the night after 4 plays.
What’s the deal with te 49ers chin straps? 4 helmets came on on their first drive.
Want to go to the Saints vs. Cowboys game? I've got an extra ticket.
Maybe it's a tribute to Favre.
“Helmets on the ground, helmets on the ground…”
Repeat? Under construction...
4 Plays, I'm ready
One missed tackle first down, four plays total, one sack. Ankle looked padded, the old man looked susceptible to the pass rush. Ahh, Viking fans, be careful what you wish for… Alex Smith a lot more productive than fossil-guy.

True. Wouldn’t be all that surprised to see Jackson opening night, either starting or coming in after they carry the old fart off the field. Still think Farve might dodge the Saints, despite all his talk about wanting another shot at them. I mean, there are people you can take at their word, and then there’s Brett.

He can't do that.
Everyone in the Vikings organisation expects him to be on the field Sept. 9, so he will. I don’t think he would have comeback otherwise. Will he find a quick way out after a big hit? That may very well happen.
Repeat? Under construction...
nice song
And you are correct the way we’re playing now I don’t see the Vikes offering much challenge to you all on the 9th…
Man our offensive line couldn’t pass block Brownie troop #5.
Terrible.
It's a lot easier to love the Vikings when they win...
