No, I'm not talking about that game. I'm talking about the season opener back in 2007. Anybody remember that game? If you're like most of us, you'd rather not remember. We were fresh off our greatest season in history and expectations were high. The Colts were fresh off a Super Bowl win. Everyone thought this game would be a Super Bowl matchup.
In the first half, our newly signed free agent cornerback was looking like a stud, with a forced fumble, which he recovered and took to the house. After the second half, and for the next 2 seasons, all he ever looked like was burnt toast. We were playing in their house. We were horrifically outmatched, outplayed, and outcoached in that game. We lost 41-10.
Do you remember? Remember how you felt?
HOW SWEET DOES IT FEEL TO BE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THAT??
WE are the team that is fresh off a Super Bowl win. WE are the home team. Every team in the NFL is looking up at US. That gut-wrenching 2007 game is a distant memory, all but forgotten by Saints fans. Remember that game against the Colts? YES, that game. That 31-17 victory in the Super Bowl. Our stud corner had that pick 6 to ice the game. That did happen. It is reality. WE open the season at our house, with our fans, with our team. Last season we finally learned what it feels like, and in my opinion, this season, the rest of the league will know, without a shadow of a doubt, that this is
OUR TIME!!!! WE ARE FOR REAL!!! WE WON'T JUST FOLD OVER BECAUSE IT'S HARD TO REPEAT!!! WE'RE GONNA REPEAT BECAUSE IT'S HARD TO REPEAT. BECAUSE AS HARD AS IT IS TO REPEAT, IT'S HARDER TO STOP US FROM REPEATING!!!!!!!!
WHO DAT!!! TWO DAT!!!!
