A second opinion from Dr. William Meyers in Philadelphia Monday confirmed that Jonathan Vilma will not need surgery on his injured groin.
It confirmed the first opinion, which came from the Saints' medical staff. "We're optimistic that he's gonna be able to start up practice when we get going Sunday of next week," said Sean Payton. Vilma should start in Week 1. Source: New Orleans Times-Picayune
