Official Canal Street Chronicles Fantasy Football League: Name the Divisions
**CBSSports.com is an SB Nation partner and paying sponsor of the SB Nation football communities. This post is one of a series of sponsor endorsed posts related to the CBSSports.com Fantasy Football Commissioner League.**
The Saints first pre-season game is just around the corner which can only mean that fantasy football leagues around the world are kicking into high gear. We here at Canal Street Chronicles are moving along in our official CBSSports.com Fantasy Football Commisioner League.
Most participating team owners have selected their team names, the divisions have been sorted and a draft date has been set for 7pm EST on August 22nd. All of that information can be found after the jump, along with information on the sweet deal CBSSports.com is offering you guys.
But I've decided to let even the CSC readers who don't have a chance to participate in our official fantasy league get in on some of the action by helping choose the names of all four of our divisions. Right now, each division is simply numbered so I want you guys to use this thread to shout out possible new names for each of the divisions. Then rec the division names you like that other CSC members have submitted. Division names with the most rec's will win.
For uniformity and easy reading/judging, use the "Subject" line to share your division name and use the "Message" portion for any explaining you want to do. If you have multiple names you'd like to submit, please create one comment per name so that it can be rec'd individually, unless you have an entire theme of four division names that all go together and only make sense as a set. Those will be considered as one single entry. Feel free to offer up as many possible names as you like. Official CSC fantasy football participating team owners are allowed to submit division names as well. I reserve the right for any tie-breaks and will always have the final say.

Because SB Nation is partnered with CBSSports.com, they are giving all fans and readers of our blogs 50% off their regular Commissioner League price and a 14-day free trial! Normally $180, you would only have to pay $89.99 to start your own league and get all the great features we'll be using in our official league that I just told you about. Then laugh at all of your other friends who blew all their money on some other platform.
CLICK HERE to take advantage of this sweet, half-off deal.
That's it. There's no strings attached. You don't need me or anyone else related to Canal Street Chronicles for anything. Just by reading this post and clicking here, you save $90 and pay half of what the rest of the world normally would.
Keep in mind that $89.99 price is for the entire league, not per person. So if you set up a twelve team league and divide the cost evenly among all of you, that's just $7.50 per person. I know you will all be creating fantasy football leagues this year, either with other members of Canal Street Chronicles or with your personal friends, so I highly encourage all of you to take advantage of this opportunity.
Here are some of the features that set the Commissioner League apart from others:
- The ability to manage your league and your team via your mobile phone.
- Expert and user generated analysis
- Live chat/league instant messenger
- Fast and incredibly accurate live scoring
- Archived league data so that you can pick up where you left off the season before
- Customization of entire league, rules, scores, teams and more
- Multiple draft options including auction drafts
If any of you want to gauge interest and/or organize your own Canal Street Chronicles fantasy football league using CBSSports.com Commissioner League, feel free to create FanPosts to do so.

How about game names?
Like from last year. The names could be the best games from last year. The names could be like; Redskins game, Miami game, Vikings game, Superbowl (or Colts game).
OK in honor of posthumous media notoriety and past/present owners and coaches I propose the following:
You should have two conferences of this league: Diliberto and Glaudi
The Glaudi Conference is the home of the Mecom and Fears Divisions
while
The Diliberto Conference is the home of the Benson and Mora Divisions
Sean Payton and the players need to focus on the upcoming season and defending the title but I don’t.

I neglected to read the instructions, Dave
but all my entries fall under the themed submissions to be considered as a group. However, if anyone wants to borrow sections or individual names from my submissions to use in their own submissions, please feel free (I love the compromise!).
I’m enjoying this contest immensely and have a few other ideas to put forth as well.

Or, you could have this (in honor of previous bumper sticker slogans):
The Faith, Hope, and Bum Conference with the Stabler and Campbell Divisions.
The Bless You Boys Conference with the Vaughan Johnson and Bobby Hebert Divisions
Sean Payton and the players need to focus on the upcoming season and defending the title but I don’t.
The Hamburger Division
The Cheeseburger Division
The GAAAAAAA Division
and Just ’Nother Division
It was worth the wait.

How 'bout a "features of CSC" league?
You could have the FanPost Conference containing the “Open Thread” and “Getting To Know You” Divisions.
And the FanShot Conference, which houses the “Accountability Index” and the “All-Time CSC Team” Divisions
Sean Payton and the players need to focus on the upcoming season and defending the title but I don’t.
oh boy, is this GREAT!!!

By the way...
For those of you team owners who haven’t changed your name yet, can we get on that already?

Poydras Division

Claiborne Division
For those unware, those are the four streets that comprise the main entrances to the Superdome.

How about player nickname divisions
1. Photo Op
2. Quiet Storm
3. Breesus
4. Lunch Pail
Alternates: Flying Frenchman, Chuckwagon (yeah, I know he’s not with us anymore), The Vilmanator, Tenacious G (Gregg Williams), The Baconator (Dave Thomas), SpongeDave Squarepatty (also Dave Thomas compliments of CP)
What other player nicknames am I forgetting?
"As soon as Tony (Dungy) said we had no chance, I knew we had 'em right where we wanted 'em"--Coach Sean Payton right after Super Bowl XLIV with the Lombardi Trophy firmly in hand. WHO DAT!!

I like those
Only, we can’t let Dave be in the “Johnson” division. He may tell us again how his is “Nine inches when erect.” I still have nightmares about that post. :)

Benson Division
Dixon Division
Finks Division
Mecom Division
Arguably the four most important individuals in team history, outside of players and coaches.

4 as a set
Orleans, St Bernard, Jefferson, St Charles.
The 4 parishes closest to the dome, but St Tammany may be closer than St Charles.
"Never interrupt your enemy when he's making a mistake." -- Napoleon Bonaparte
How about SB heroes?
Brees Division
Porter Division
Hartley Division
Payton Division
Arguably the top four SB heroes (with apologies to Vilma), and further it honors every element of last year’s historic team: offense, defense, special teams, and coaching.
