In the immortal words of Herm Edwards, "You play to win the game". He didn't say you play to talk about it for months after!
Hi guys,
This is my first Fanpost,
Well folks as we get closer to Sept. 9th the war of words between saints fans and vikings fans is beginning to heat up once again. I believe by next week the gloves will probably come completely off if they have not already and the smack talk will be like a ticking time bomb up until game time. I, myself love to talk smack but I do not condone personal attacks on other members, their family or any circumstance that we all can agree should be off limits. I know some will say whatever they want and I believe in their right to say it. With, all that being said....
The question I have for Vikings fans is where is the pride in your team? I see that you guys love your Vikings as we love our saints but so much so that for 7 months you had to call saints fans and saints players cheats, cheap shot artists, and overall a lower class of a life.
I believe Vikings fans have lowered the actual players to a bunch of victims. The Vikings are an excellent football team. They don’t need to complain about "illegal hits" and "we were the better team". Bottom line is like Herm said " You play to win the game", not whine for 7 months about losing it.
I understand saints fans have been waving the Lombardi trophy in Vikings fan faces for a while and also some members of both fan bases have crossed the line at times. I am a long suffering saints fan and a sports fan in general I understand the Vikings fans love for their team who in 50 years has never won the big game but to still be crying foul says you don’t believe your team can do it this year right?
Even the head coach is still talking about "illegal hits". It is sad it’s an environment that makes it ok to be a sore loser. It’s an environment where being a cry baby is supported instead of being banished. It’s a losing environment. Saints fan know all about it. Football is like life you win some you lose some along the way some things are fair some are not but the more time you spend complaining about it the less you can enjoy the ride.
Lets all have a little more pride for our teams, especially the Vikings fans stop painting your team as being treated unfairly and how about painting as a good team that just didn’t get it done. I have read so many posts about “illegal hits” “X marks the spot” “Hurricane Brett” “The best team lost” The saints were out gained and out played” “Still the aints” "classless" "Sh***y Dirty City" . Blah, Blah, Blah so on and so forth.
Maybe its because of the fact that we can all hide behind a computer screen that makes it easier to keep crying bloody murder, but I am begging for an answer When did it become ok for the toughest most brutal sport to have the biggest cry babies for fans?
Bottom line
Let’s get back to arguing X’s and O’s not wins and losses.
The Buddha say ,"that which we think about we become'. So if your always thinking about how you lost the game that might make you a loser. Maybe, maybe not...lol

Let's all breathe deeply with a deep cleansing breath
And, as the Dalai Lama says….“Do what you can.”
It's gonna be a great year.
That was very insightful.

I'm going to think about being rich, young, and handsome
Not exactly what you meant? Okay, I’ll think about being a Saints fan celebrating a three-dat.
It was worth the wait.
I can't see how this helps anything
You should try to start a cult who will do your dirty work for you.

No where did I claim my post would help....
I really am just asking why is this awesome, intense, fun rivalry full of crying over spilled milk it’s a contact sport not flag football…I do have a cult “The who dat nation”…baaaabey!

Well, it can't hurt
can it? Or maybe it can…I’m just not sure anymore! Some Vikes fans seem to understand and see the points that the wise budda is raising while others take such posts by us as personal attacks. GAAAAAAA! I’m so confused…

Agree with Stu
This isn’t going to help anything. Only going to keep the crap spewing for a longer period of time.
This is my first Fanpost
I’m glad you were patient and waited until you found a subject that hadn’t been discussed enough!

LOL…I get where you and jeff.i.b are coming from. I know I could have avoided talking about the Vikings fans but I felt the question was legitmate to ask.
I am really uniterested in helping or hurting this situation only because I have serious doubts anything can be done at this point.
People may view it as me being offensive but I believe it’s ok to ask why cry over whats supposed to be a “mans game”?

No problem
The game is next week, so there’s gonna be lots of trash talking from both sides no matter who cries truce. I just hope it ends after we lay this opening night, banner-hanging ceremony, Favre-on-the-ground beat-down on them.

Overall
the Saints fans (the majority of them) have humility because they are used to losing. Fans on other teams are used to being the center of attention and can’t stand it when another team takes it from them. It reminds me of a bunch of spoiled children throwing a temper tantrum. Hopefully after next week it will be over, but that is probably just wishful thinking.
Breesus Is My Homeboy
I hear ya...
but many other teams fans feel NO fans are not humble because the media is constantly talking about katrina…I agree hopefully it will be over but I wont be holding my breath
