A big "hell yeah" to the Saints Defense. And a rant on honesty.

I'm not sure that this post is really needed, but after spending some time on the Daily Norseman, I'm angry at the sheer cognitive dissonance that goes on over there. The one example of that that strikes me as most emblematic of their fight against reality is a quote from none other than the illustrious Christopher Gates (Stu, I'm naming names just for you). The quote may have been removed since I last visited the Daily Norseman, but the gist of it was this: Because the Vikings held the Saints number one ranked offense to their lowest points total in two years, the Vikings have the better defense, and should not worry about their chances come playoff time. Sounds pretty freaking awesome for them right? Wrong.

How about a little respect for our defense? After all, they did hold the league's number two ranked offense to it's second lowest point total since November 11, 2007.

I've about had it with the level of intellectual dishonesty that seems to be inherent to some (but not all) Viking fans. In the NFCCG, it was Adrian Peterson who "lost" the game for the Vikings (with some help from the officials of course). This time it was their lack of offensive congruity.

How many more ways can they make excuses? It's time to admit that the Vikings just aren't as good as the Saints. Full stop. The end.
