Minnesota Vikings 9 @ New Orleans Saints 14: Prediction Results and Voting
Finally carved out enough time to compute everyones predictions from last week. Man, there were a lot!
With everyone expecting a high-scoring shootout between the two teams you can imagine that most predictions weren't very close. Brees only throwing one touchdown and not hitting the 250-yard mark really screwed up a lot of people. Bush not scoring or hitting 100-yards all purpose did as well. That means two correct guesses got your name on the final ballot and only four members actually accomplished that feat. Score predictions weren't close either so I don't know how the heck you're gonna decide who deserves the honor.
Look over the results then go ahead and cast your vote for the best predictor. The poll will be open until Thursday morning at 6am.

HB-NOLA has my vote...
For his prediction #3- AP has more rushing yards than Bush + PT combined.
stujo4
Both of his correct guesses were about the play of our defense.
The two I got wrong were about Jimmy Graham, and Junior. I need to make predictions about players that will actually be in the game next week.
"Why do you even ponder passing? I mean, you can take a knee and try a 56 yard field goal! This is not Detroit man, this is the Superbowl!" -- Paul Allen's call after Tracy Porter intercepted Brett Favre in NFCCG
some shameless lobbying for myself
I also guessed a blocked extra point attempt by the Wikings. That’s got to count for something, right? Come ON! Blocked extra point! How often does that happen?
All right, let me put it to you in a way that you can easily understand: Everybody who does not vote for me goes on The List. boom
Every time you do that thing you do.
Can I take my vote back? LOL
"Why do you even ponder passing? I mean, you can take a knee and try a 56 yard field goal! This is not Detroit man, this is the Superbowl!" -- Paul Allen's call after Tracy Porter intercepted Brett Favre in NFCCG
You convinced me
Blocked extra point is a high-quality prediction. You know, we need to have a weighting system for this…some predictions are just harder to get than others.
It was worth the wait.
OK, here's a deal: Vote for me and I'll delete you from The List
What, I thought it was a hypocritical free-for-all today with Reggie being condemned for doing what nearly all talented college players, coaches, athletic departments, supporters (aka “boosters”), and fans do except he did it to a degree that made lessers so jealous that they complained about it.
Every time you do that thing you do.
Fair enough - I asked the Q about your Wikes score prediction, anyway, so let's just take a closer look at that waffle-y prediction
Blocked XP and 2 FG’s. Don’t quote me on that. I just feel like their score will look unconventional. Maybe 15. (3 FG’s)
“Don’t quote me on that”? “I just feel like”? “maybe 15. (3 FGs)”
I’m not even sure which of those to try and score as your actual prediction. You offer multiple ways this will happen, which dilutes the potency (TWSS) of any of them when one of them comes true. All you’re really, concretely saying is that their score will be unconventional, which it was.
In the name of all that’s truthy, you can NOT give him credit for “calling his shot” and nailing the blocked XP!!
However, I will give him credit for guessing an unconventional score for them.
Just put me on the list, Stuart. I’m enjoying myself.

click on the link to see "all fanposts"
That will help until some new stories come out. I don’t see much news coming out today though.
Another work around is this: If you are using Firefox you can get a plug-in called no script. With that you can temporarily block any script from Youtube. Look at the posts then allow youtube once again.

What happens less often, Jared Allen held sackless or Peterson outrushing Thomas and Bush combined? I’d have to think the former. Advantage: General Betrayus.

That being said, I voted for HB-NOLA. Maybe this will teach you not to eff with my $5 high score bonus, Stuart.
"I was not on the boat in question" -Darren Sharper
Actually, that's not accurate
At least, last year it wasn’t. Of the 11 weeks in which all three RBs played, Peterson outgained Reggie and Pierre in only 5 weeks. Of the 16 games Jared Allen played last year, he had 8 games without a sack.
But thanks for the vote! :)

I pull the sexism card..I had 2 correct predictions and yet I am not on the ballot for voting. Why because I am a girl? I demand a recount

Probably because

Dave, nice work
I’d like to thank you for doing the thankless (well, not 100% thankless, I guess) and tedious and time consuming chore to compile and post these.
Remember the days when only 50 or so people did them? Well, then 13-0 happened, and then a Super Bowl win, changed all that!

My point being, your name, no avatar pic, and nothing on your bio before you accused Dave of being sexist. So no one could have a clue as to your sex. And have you seen that Bruce Willis movie, (“Symbiot” or something like that) where that hot blond turns out to be a fat man jackin off on his sofa.

Be a little crazy with your predictions!
Saying Brees will throw for 200 yards is like saying he will take the field, and for a team that had 35 sacks last year, saying that they will have at least one in this game isn’t really going out on a limb. They are solid predictions, but my vote has to go to to the person that picks the most off-the-wall pick out there.
"I want to hand this trophy to the MVP of the Super Bowl -- and the MVP of the entire league.''
-- Saints coach Sean Payton, handing the Vince Lombardi Trophy to Drew Brees after Super Bowl 44.

My early predictions for next week:
1. Brees will pass for at least 5 yards.
2. Bush will have a run shorter than 5 yards from scrimmage.
3. Sean Payton will wear a visor.
"I was not on the boat in question" -Darren Sharper
1. Alex Smith will look confused at least once.
2. Mike Singletary will squint angrily.
3. Both the Saints and 49ers will have some form of the color “gold” on their uniforms and helmets.
don't forget this one
Coach Singletary will be thanking us after the game for kicking his team’s butt.
It's gonna be a great year.

1. There will be at least one live aerial shot of the Golden Gate Bridge during the MNF telecast.
2. The fact that the Saints and 49ers were once bitter rivals in the NFC West will be mentioned.
3. Alex Smith will not casually point out John Candy in the stands.

FWIW, I just want to point out that I nearly had all three predictions correct – there were 4 personal fouls called during the game, instead of the 5 I predicted.
mebe you shoulda played it safe
and said only one personal foul.
you know, when you want something, and nobody can stop you from taking it, you just take it, right? I like that, but can you take it?
